Defender,
That's fine. I will be around this weekend, but I work at Marathon in Garyville M-F.
I also did my research as you are doing now. I am not saying that my deal was THE deal for everyone out there, but it sounds like you are having some of the same problems I was having. You also seem to be in the market for the same size tractor. I can tell you that out of the numerous dealers I visited, either in person or on the web, I narrowed it down to the local three you mentioned.
Gulf South was high, but they had the biggest selection at the time and their service dept seemed pretty good. However, they wanted to charge me $150 for delivery. That kind of turned me away due to the principle. It made me wonder how they would treat me on service calls.
Liberty tractor has been around a while. They used to be the place to go, but in the past two or three years they have really forgot about the customer. They seemed eager to sell you whatever they can and I have numerous friends that refuse to take equipment to them for service, even though they bought from them. Quite frankly, they had me so PO'd that I would never buy from them or recommend them to anyone.
Singleton's now has a large selection of tractors. Most of them are already fitted with FEL's. There service dept gets an A+ from me, even though I have not had to use them. They have came out to my house at no charge to adjust the shift linkage, and they worked with me on two other small problems with the startup timer and a leaking fuel line. They not only had the lowest prices, but also delivered the tractor for free, gave me a free service on all break in fluids, and threw in a couple of freebies upon purchase. It is a small business, but the people there are great.
I know it sounds like I am trying to sell you on Singleton's, but I am actually just relaying my experience. I won't make anything and don't have any affiliation with them, but you should consider shopping there. I shopped around for three years before choosing the 4530.
I have 20 acres in Greensburg with about 4 of it being my 'yard'. I needed something that would not tear up my yard (industrial tires) but still be able to cut a 13 acre field without any problems. I have found that the 4530 is tight when pulling my finishing mower around the yard, but it does tread lightly despite the heavy weight.
I ended up choosing the 4530 over the 4110 because I am not a fan of anything electrical (PTO on 4110) that will end up not working when you need it the most. (Ya'll don't kill me this one!) There was also some personal issues with the engine and transmission. The Mahindra engine on the 4530 is close to the old Perkins you would find on older Massey's, at least in my opinion.
Check your inbox when you read this. I will PM you with my numbers.
