A new horse stable

The original plan was for 2 stories, with the montor part being the top half of the 2nd floor (if that make any sense). However, I made the mistake in discussing this with an Engineer :eek , and the material requirements were getting too expensive. So I gave up on the 2nd floor and just used trusses to close up the building before winter arrived. I did like the look of the raised center isle, so I got that build into the truss. Its fake, but it makes the barn looks less plain-Jane.

I also overbuilt, specifying trusses on 16" rather than 24" centers. Lots of snow here...

That's a nice looking horse barn! Will that be pasture out behind it? Your place looks very neat and well kept.

Thanks! Pasture will be to the back and front, There's also about 10 acres to the right outside the picture.

Beautiful barn! I love the fence too. I have memories of painting one like that when I was a kid. We had a thick board on top that we used to run on.

My wife is also in photography, and when I showed her your picture of your barn, and how you can look all around, up and down, she wanted to know how you did it.

Is it a software thing? or do you need a special camera?

Ha! first, you need lots of spare $$...

-I have a Nikon DLSR but a digital point&shoot will do.
-A very wide angle or fisheye lens. I use a Nikon 10.5mm fisheye lens.
-A tripod.
-A contraption to hold the lens constant at a particular point as you turn the camera around on the tripod (the focal nodal point). Some people build these out of wood. I use something called a "Nodal Ninja 5".
-Software to stitch the photos together. There's a bunch of free trial versions for Windows and Linux. I use "PTGiu".
