Yep, I did it on my tractors, too. Really comes in handy. My Case came with 2 of them from the factory, but they're in the cab in a bad spot for the pump. I think i'll wire a 2 pin flat from the battery box or some kind of weatherproof 12V socket. Trouble is, i can't find any that are truly weatherprrof & rugged.

Have you found one with a good sealing rubber cap?

Try Marine supply. I mounted one on my dash, and it has been sealed fine.

I (under attack of frustration) just bought 12 V fuel transfer pump in local farm supply. Then I installed a 4 contact trailer receptacle on the back of the tractor. One contact is 12 V common connected to minus terminal on the battery, one contact is connected to plus 12 V on the battery in series with 20A automatic breaker and one contact is connected also to the breaker but with a switch in series. That one is used for control of a three point sprayer. Since the transfer pump has its own switch it has a plug wired to direct 12 V. The sprayer has a plug wired to switched 12 V. Now I need to acquire about 50 gallon tank but so far couldn't find one for reasonable amount of money.

*You don't need to pay $100 or more for a 50 gallon tank that won't work anyway because it don't have the right openings to use a pump on.
I paid 12 bucks for this 30 gallon one.
I recently bought 2 55 gallon ones for 12 dollars a piece.
A couple of months before that I bought a 55 gallon one for $17.oo.

Prices in south central Oklahoma are lower for drums. I pay from free to about $10 for 50 gal polly drums or steel. I have at least a dozen in reserve.

I have several of the old "Fire Proof" metal gas cans with the spring loaded lid over the spout. I just painted a couple of them yellow and they work well.
