A Quick Review of my New Piranha Bar

Hey there Ken. I guess I do not understand your setup. I am trying to picture what you have there but it isn't working for me. Do you have a picture of the forks on the bucket that you can share? That way I think I could envision the PB added onto what you show me and it would be more clear to me.

And yes, I agree the PB is a real brush, small tree KILLER ! I love it.

This is similar to what I have.

oh ok.....well yeah I could see these being a real problem if you had these mounted at the same time as the PB. I find it critical to be able to find that perfect "roll" angle of the bucket so that the edge teeth of the PB is doing exactly what I need it to do.

Sometimes I have them angled down into the ground a little so I dig deeper to rip out roots etc, these forks would make that impossible. Dumb question.....why not just take these off when you are gonna be doing some brush clearing? I suspect most folks do not use their PB too often once a job is finished.

I don't normally have the forks on, but they are useful for moving some larger bits of tree trunk.
The PB is also great at going through stony soil that stops my tractor dead without the bar, seems to lift the rocks instead of hitting them dead on.

My forks are like the ones pictured and they work with my PB on, I used them a few weeks ago and had no problems, they fit the same as my tamers do.

My Medtronic papers for my pacemaker say at least 5 feet from any transmitting antenna but says nothing about the coax cable running off the back of my radio in which I have 3, dipole, 2 meter, 6 meter, I don’t know why I have my six meter up being I am in a very poor to non existent area for it and have yet to hear anything on it. On a good night I can pic up to 180 with my dipole, I listen to 10 and 40 most of the time when I have my TS on but it has been a long time. Most around here are scanning but 2 meter is the go to for most just because they have them in their vehicles, I would like a FT-897 for my pickup instead of the FT-7900 I have in it now.

I like the forks I got for my bucket, so far the pallets I have moved were easy and not overly heavy maybe 250-300 pounds total.

Better pic of tamers on with the Piranha bar.

When they say "5' away from any transmitting antenna" that, from an engineering standpoint is the most stupid and ignorant response someone could come up with. Clearly written by lawyers wanting to ensure no liability on their part regardless of how stupid a statement they suggest. And, sorry to say but even that will not protect you. You could be 5' away from a 6m dipole with 10W fed to it and be ok....what about if you fed 100W into it and still 5' away? Guess what the field strength just went up....and what if you were running 1000W into that dipole antenna? The field strength is now way stronger and yet you are following their stupid guideline of being 5' away.

And saying "A transmitting antenna" ! **** that could be one of 10,000 types. Does that antenna have any gain? 1W into a dipole is a lot different then 1W into a 17 dBi gain long boom yagi !. And how much radiated power, and at what frequency ?? W/O specifying these things a blanket statement like theirs is 100% useless. If they had any brains they would have stated the maximum field strength (E & H fields) at various frequency bands which are safe. That way they could have covered their butts and not have to worry about what types of antennas or power or lengths of coax or anything else. I hate it when companies make ignorant lazy statements like that.

And now because of that you will never know what level of radiated RF is safe for your device or not.

Better pic of tamers on with the Piranha bar.

That's what I need right there !!!! Very nice. I see the bolts that hold the tamers on are right on the edge where the bucket starts to bevel down and get thinner. Did you have any trouble or do you have any trouble keeping them on nice and tight?

With what I have done they have stayed tight, I was hoping you would catch the bolt and bevel part mine just catches it so the bolt does not travel or wonder it grabs on the bevel, if it was more on a flat surface I would of taken and drilled a counter sunk hole for the bolt to sit in to keep it from wondering or moving.
I would have to find my paper from Medtronics where it talks about chainsaws, welders, drills, Ham radio antennas but I believe it was 5feet and 10 watt, the only time I have felt anything was when I tried my neighbors 220 welder and then when I was at the shop and was standing next to a 125 hp outboard motor Wes was working on and he started it on the water hose, both times I got a tingling feeling where the pacemaker is located so both times I walked away and of course I was within 5 feet both times.

If I have time tomorrow and feel good I will go get the tractor started and put my forks on the bucket and get a pic of how they fit with the PB on.

Thanks Jim. BTW even with that extra info from them "I would have to find my paper from Medtronics where it talks about chainsaws, welders, drills, Ham radio antennas but I believe it was 5 feet and 10 watt," is useless as you can see.

10W into a dipole and 5' away from it is sure different than 10W into an antenna with 10 dB of gain where you are still 5' away from it. W/O giving you frequencies and field strengths and whether they are concerned about E-Fields, H-Fields, or Plane Wave radiation their information is 100% useless.
