On a different forum that I visit,it has a feauture that allows all nationalities to converse in English or any other language depending on how the default is set. I can converse(post) a message and someone else can reply that speaks a different language can read my posts in there language and I can read it in English. If one did not know of this feature being in place you would just assume everyone speaks the same language.

It would be neat if we could converse with other tractor/farm people of different cultures and vice versa and we would all be able to learn more and make friends of differentt cultures and society.

I'd like that especially since my main language is not english, I often have to look up words in the 'ol dictionnary and most of the technical terms used on here are not mentionned in there ,either they have no accurate translation or my dictionnary is too old. We do see a few Europeans on TBN and they seem amazed by the interest-passion they witness for little Asian tractors. That makes me doubtful that TBN would be a big hit worldwide since CUTs seem to be almost exclusively an American thing.

There's really no practical application for that here... since more than 99% of our visitors are in the United States and speak English.

I dunno about that.....I could use a translator for some of Todd's posts! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

(I hope his forced life adjustment is still going OK /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)

I don't know, Muhammad! If a person couldn't speak English, they surely wouldn't visit a site they couldn't read?

I'm sure you have a way of tracking this sort of thing?

I wonder if the moderators can find something illegal in this post? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My daughter who does speak some Japanese...mother is Japanese and we lived in Japan until she was five...was writing a introduction letter to a host family she was going to stay with this summer, when she went to Japan as a group leader for ten American high school students.

We ran something she wrote in English, through a Japanese translater and then back into English...and "my husband is a nice guy" turned into "My master is exceedingly easy..."

Seemed like a reasonable translation to me...but she would not buy into it... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Someday, sometime automated translater programs will be good...but I don't think we are even close yet... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
