Changing a tire is a lost art. Between the fact that many modern vehicles don't even have a spare (or it's just one of those "silly spares"), and you often have to dig out the owner's manual to find out where they hid the jack.
That having been said, I don't remember the last time I had a flat.
That's why everything I drive has 10 ply tires. I run some pretty bad roads and got tired of changing tires. I did have a slow leak last year. I got tired of pumping it up every day so swapped it out one night. I love my Dewalt cordless impact... 👍

Hmmm...I guess I have either bad roads, or bad luck, or both. I change a tire a couple times a year, one this week. Metal roofing type nail through the center of the tread.

I love my impact wrenches as well. My hex drive cordless impact is great for getting lug nuts 90% on, so I can finish quickly with a torque wrench. (Why do owner's manuals bury torque specifications? "Is that under wheels? Tires? General specifications? Got it, right after engine oil in the specifications..."

All the best,

Peter

My cordless impact always goes with me when I pull my trailer or travel.

I find the page with info like wheel torque, how to reset oil change counter etc and fold a corner down in the manual.

My story about needing a tow truck to change a flat tire, We were helping daughter move from OH to VA this summer. Her Expedition was loaded down plus it was towing a uhaul trailer. Lost air pressure in rear tire and alarm warned her. Pulled off interstate and called USAA insurance to have someone change it. Also off ramp was on a uphill grade. No one showed after waiting for 3 hours on a hot Saturday. Not sure what her spare was rated for. Manual said it could be a donut, or full size with limited load capability or a full size normal tire. Finally tried to jack up, no luck. Get my jack out of my truck and put it under the trailer tonque. Jack mine up till it stopped, back to hers under the rear axle till it stopped, then mine again. Luckily I had a block of wood at trailer tire keeping rig from rolling backwards. Found spare, nice full size tire to match what we took off. Got it changed, thanks USAA. They never showed up or called her. The next morning we found out she, my wife and I tested positive for covid. Not a move I want to repeat. Jon

My wife has some electromagnetic powers if there's a nail or screw on a road her tires attract them. She also has a supernatural ability to attract debris on her windshield. 4 chipped windshields replaced and many tire plugs. Ive become very profecient at using tire plugs. In retrospect my truck and winter beater car no tire plugs or chipped windshields ever. 🤔

I bought a M12 impact after I could not get a tire off my wife's car with a 4' breaker bar.
Has someone from AAA come over with their battery impact. Took a whole battery but they got it off.
Now I can do that without the wait.

I bought my impact to facilitate assembing my sawmill. I wish that I'd bought one years ago.
