I have to post a big THANK GOD. Had my ultrasound and mammogram Tuesday, and the radiologist says there is absolutely nothing there. No sign of anything on the mammogram, and nothing blocking the sound. The nipple is still painful if I bump it, but he said that could be anything from a medicine change to a bruise. Guess I'll just watch it and hope it goes away. I sure want to thank all of you guys for encouraging me to get it checked.

I just saw my endocrinologist for my annual checkup. I told him my breast was sore. He told me if my breast was sore............it ain't cancer. So I musta' sleep on it too long.

Yep, and female hormones that all males have in low quantities. Before a PET scan, they inject dye that the cancer cells absorb. That dye is a complex sugar that the cancer sees as food and absorbs more than surrounding tissue. That way, the dye concentration shows up on the scan as bright spots. Interestingly, even talking after taking the dye injection can cause false readings because the muscles absorb the dye instead of the cancer. After giving the dye injection, you have to remain still and quiet for at least 45 minutes to ensure the dye does not give false readings.

I've had another event that sent me bqck to the hospital for a couple of days Saturday evening, IIhad a mild mild seisurethat was caused by a coupl.e of spots on my brain.My doctors say that radiationshould clear things up in12 t0 15 treatments.I sure hope so, it all begins today. At least the center is closeby and the treatments are short, 1/2 hour.I's just aneeded step.Do it and get it.over.
