Harvey,
Glad to hear she has got this. That is good. I also think you will do well writing about all of this. I loved reading your projects posts and I am sure you will have more passion in your future writings.
Love and Prayers, hugs, Brandi

Evidently he learned something that motivated him to get the fire hose out instead of the yard hose.

And of course I'm sure you know that what he learned might be for Glenda's needs, or it might be that it just fits his personal schedule better. Or he may have just forgotten what he told you before. So we'll all keep hoping for the best and a complete recovery.

GH

I went with my wife yesterday to a integrative medical office (the doctor there is a MD but gave up on "traditional medicine" some time ago).

You and my wife now sound very similar.

My wife has told me if she would of known then what she knows now, she would of taken a completely different approach.

My wife is 100% certain she won't go on the tomoxefin now.

The best way I can be supportive is by changing my diet at this point in time. I will admit, it was very interesting listening to this doctors "orientation" (per integrative medicine). It's also interesting how insurance plays into what people generally do and don't do. My wife also noted that it was interesting that if something was deemed a "cure", it was regulated by the FDA.

Sigarms I wish your wife the best.

Actually I do feel lucky the doctors wanted me to start on Enbrel injections for arthritis pain. Enbrel is just one of many immunosuppressors that lowers you self defense against shingles, cancer, etc. Had removing the grains and sugars from my diet not managed my pain well I guess I would have taken Enbrel route and side effect risks.

After having studied cancer and its treatment from Europe and Asia for the past 15 months and actually implemented a few of the cancer treatment protocols on myself I now have no fear of cancer. That does not mean I will not ever have cancer but I do know there are treatment options beyond cut, burn and poison that I will implement first. In fact I plan to stay on some of simple supplements used world wide to treat any stage of most any type of cancer as prevention.

In short I have learned if we get our immune system in top notch health that is will most always be able to prevent the cancer that starts 10 -1000 times daily in our bodies from living long enough to develop into a tumor state. In most cases outside of our head a tumor is not a health issue until it starts to spread to other parts of the body.

Based on what I have learned over the past year it is best if we will do our research well before they find cancer in our bodies and work to get healthy enough so our internal cancer prevention systems will be able to keep us free from cancer. The ounce of prevention we take can be worth 10,000 pounds of "cures".

This morning was the first chemo treatment. Her drains were pulled last Thursday and she started chemo today.

I believe she was more afraid of the chemo than the bi-lateral mastectomy. So just before we left the house I took her out into the backyard and snapped some photos of her with the first chemo poster.

Susan at Texas Oncology at Rockwall has magic. She walked Glenda through what was going to happen one step at a time. We were there a total of three hours but just less than two hours was in the chair using the new port above where her left breast used to be.

We got home and so far, seven hours, no nausea and she is asleep most of the time but she is resting well.

I am so thankful. We thought this was going to be one of the "worse" I signed on for in the hot air balloon so many years ago. But this has been a roller coaster and I see no reason to believe it is going to change. Today was a good day.

I can well imagine the roller coaster effect. Glad to hear it's going pretty well so far and hope it continues to do so.

It should go without saying that behind every strong husband or wife... is a strong husband or wife. Keep up the good work Harv! Glenda will beat this.

I think it's only appropriate that since today is the day of Thanksgiving that I should post an update along with some photos taken yesterday evening.

We were doing our night before Thanksgiving cooking and Glenda decided to model her new head coverings daughter and grandkids in OKC had just sent down. She also modeled a couple of the shirts we had purchased yesterday too.

If everything goes according to schedule by this time next week she should be losing her hair, excuse me, releasing as they say in the cancer community. So we are getting ready, head coverings has became an event the whole family can participate in.

The surgery pain is lessening and she is suffering less from the chemo treatment, win win in my book. So she is feeling better and she is spending more time up and at them.

We don't know what next Thanksgiving has in store for us. But this one, it has been special and we are very grateful.
