Do you have a personal example of an Kubota trade in?
While I don't really care about resale value on tractors when I am buying (I buy tractors and keep them) I will say this, in my area Kubota has terrible resale value. It is easy to find "great" deals on used Kubotas because none of the dealers want them. I don't really know why but I tried to trade my Kubota M8540 Narrow in on a similar Deere narrow unit and I would have taken a $17K loss on the deal. The tractor had 50 hours and not even a scratch. There just isn't a strong trade market on Kubota tractors and I'm stuck with mine. Only reason I wanted to get rid of it was because I was unhappy with how it performed. After finding out the loss was more then I was willing to accept I have just accepted it for what it is and limit my use of it to spraying and chopping brush in the vineyard. It spends most of its time parked in the barn now
Deere wanted $1k more for the similar Deere narrow then I paid for the Kubota ($44k-$43k)
But I did use the poor resale value to find a good deal on a used Kubota BX for my girlfriend. If your buying the tractor with the intention of keeping it you can use the market to your advantage.
