What happens if they want to log it. Y'all think he should shoot the loggers.

You could get real radical and get out the chainsaw!

Not the same at all. The logs wouldn't be on the OP's property, the neighbor's light is. You either believe in property rights or you don't--log or lights makes no difference.

New big house across the road from me put in a whole bunch of pole lights along their long driveway, we call it the runway. Way too much light for my taste, but not a major problem for me. I've noticed that people that move to the country from the city, where they are used to street lights, want to light up the area all night. I prefer motion lights that are only on as needed. Seems weird the town guy doesn't want them shaded on your side.

To be serious I would just shoot them out of it bothered me that bad!

Are these the neighbor's lights...or are they municipal? If they are owned by the property owner, you need to talk to them...if municipal, you need to go to the mayor, select board or who ever the town's leadership is.

All the comments about shooting out the light are, hopefully, frivolous. That would be a crime and, overall, bad for gun owners...

The difference is that the light doesn't stop on the owners property and affects the OP. If the logging caused erosion and massive amounts of mud coming onto the OP's land it would be a similar situation. Still "shooting the loggers" would not be appropriate.

Seems to many people have more bullets than brains.

I've a neighbor that raises big dogs and they bark incessantly from about dusk until midnight or so. And then as soon as I go out in the morning around 4 a.m. and bang my shed door they start barking again, and right after that the owner starts shouting at them to shut up.
Whoops, banged my shed door again,

Luckily our house is so well insulated that they are not louder than the ceiling fan when we are inside.

That's funny, near our house in NH all the light factories are locals!

OP going to Town Hall seems like a good idea. Is this a municipal lighting outfit?

Ditto in Va. Burn garbage in the creeks, make junk piles in the back lot.

If you get caught shooting out the lights, just blame it on the superintendant of the chicago police force, since he has a reputation of getting drunk with his buddies and shooting out street lights. His name is mccarthy but we call his mcstreetlights.
