Abuse by John Deere Credit

I don't understand why you didn't just give Jerry a check over the phone to take care of it until they got it all straightened out.

It is always recommended to keep track of automatic payments (especially at first) until you are sure they are transacted properly.
You did not state the EXACT reason your payments did not go through. It may be something as simple as one wrong number somewhere.
I have had no problems with JD credit, I send them my Harley money every month by check.
You didn't deserve to be yelled at but I'd be willing to bet you were prompt with this Jerry guy since your automatic payments weren't working properly. Live and learn. Keep us posted.

I don't use automatic drafting, because I don't allow anyone to take money out of my checking account just on principle. But I have had no problems with Deere or Deere Credit.

If I was in default though (for whatever reason) I would not expect them to be nice. The automatic drafting is just a convienence, it doesn't absolve you of the responsibility to make payments. The same would be true for a mortgage company or anyone else.

When I bought my 990 I had to use JD credit to get the now payments for like a year then start payments of $700 dollars per month but luckily I sold the 4300 the week before the payments started so I paid the bill in full to JD credit for the tractor and I had to pay no finanancing charges of $500 that they were going to charge me. I thought JD credit was good.

Its unlikely we will hear from HillBilly77 again on this subject....because however he see's it, he is still responsible for the payments arriving in time...there is no valid reason for him not to be timely in payments...
I wonder if he would pull this with his mortgage co ? knowing if he didn't follow through, they would foreclose on him without a blink of the eye....with a tractor what do you got to lose repossession? He is playing games and not taking responsibility
There are plenty of banks that handle online automatic payments- and JD is set up for electronic payments from most banks...

I agree - I hoped we would hear more from him - I think the jury is in - and it's plainly his fault - but I'd be curious to hear him defend why this isn't his fault... come on 3 months without payment. The one thing I didn't comment on last night, and this really frosted my a$$ was his grab for goods and service to compensate himself for the "Abuse" he's had to endure. As if a few John Deere oil changes will soothe his nerves. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'm not normally so opinionated, but this just rubbed me the wrong way. In another section we have a thread about "Your Word is Your Bond"... Hillbilly77 - head over there and read it, then come tell us about abuse.

Holy opinions.........this is one of the most heated exchanges

I agree - and I'll drop it - two things got me though - the request for credit for service and goods, and the "abuse" claim. In some ways that post sounded like my 9 year old daughter when she's in trouble "it's not my fault"... LOL.

OK - From here on out I lighten up! Jugular realeased /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hey guys not defending him and I handled it differently but I had the same experience. I made three electronic payments and printed out the confirmation pages only to find out none of them were accepted.

On the last attempt, I did it while on the phone with Customer Care. The young lady I was speaking with said yup I see it came through. After hanging up and checking my checking account it never went through. I ended up doing it the old way via snail mail. BTW the accout I was using I use everyday and also have a construction loan feeding it.

Add to this, they send both email and regular mail to the wrong addresses after correcting online. So in closing everyone has different experiences and I had one very similar to HillBilly77. I fixed it and own the solution but it does not take any blame off of JD or any subsidary it chooses to do business through. Everyone over reacts sometimes and I have now gotten to the point if I send an email I usually take some time before sending because there is no pulling it back. Good Luck HillBilly77
