Good luck with that. Mine quit in the middle of last summer, and had to leave for the night. Replaced the fan motor and cap. the next day after stopping at walmart for a window unit to put in the bedroom. Glad I bought the backup now. Things usually go wrong at night, on weekends, and holidays for me.

Mine quit last year. The A/C guy was a friend of my granddaughter. Found the problem in 15 minutes bad wire connection. Looked like an insect tried to crawl into the connector, worked fine the day before and after he left only had 1 hr labor no parts

Whew, I wish you luck. Hard to believe I lived my first 19 years without air-conditioning, but I'd sure hate to be without it now. Let us know what the problem turns out to be. I had a complete new Goodman system installed in our house a year ago last month.

. . . , it hummmmmms when it is suppose to kick on...could be a starter capacitor: i am bettin on the capacitor:. . .

My money would be on the capacitor. I had one fail three years ago and that is exactly what it did. The serviceman didn't have an exact replacement, so he put in a dual cap with similar values. Last year, the dual failed and the serviceman swapped the leads to the other terminals and we were back in business in a flash. He didn't charge me a dime for the service call either.
