Accessing Kubota with Front End Loader for Maintenance

My Kubota L3710 has a front end loader. I want to open the hood or whatever it's called to change a fuel solenoid and do maintenance. The loader is in the way.

I saw a video where a guy claimed Kubota tractors have a part that holds front end loaders up. You detach it from the frame, raise the loader, and put the part on the loader to hold it up. I don't see anything like that on my tractor. Can I assume it never had one?

Do I have to take the loader off to do maintenance? If so, are there any pitfalls to worry about?

If you can't get to the area you need to work on with the loader up or down, then you will need to take it off. Your loader should have struts that come down and lock to hold up the loader arms when backing the tractor away from it. Refer to your owner's manual.

Suburban cowboy - as per your original post - there are struts that drop down - lock - hold the FEL arms up while you back away from the attachment. I DID NOT watch the video so I have no idea what "safety lock" you may be speaking of.

No - I have never had to remove the FEL on my tractor to do any maintenance. Bought the tractor brand new in 2009.

Perhaps you simply have to learn to be more supple, agile and twisted - ha, ha.

I plan on making some of the locks so I can "store" my tractor with the loader up (inside shop space is limited and having the loader up gives me back some floor space). I would also enjoy doing service items without fear of FEL dropping on me.. yes, I could remove loader, but just to put it back on after servicing.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like there is no way to open the engine compartment without taking the front end loader completely off. There are two horizontal supports that appear to stay in place beside the engine, even with the bucket up.

When you say "open up the engine compartment" what are you meaning? I'm thinking it hard to believe that you cannot open the hood (for something as simple as checking the oil). If having the hood fully open doesn't give you adequate access then perhaps removing it (hood) would be in order? My Kioti's loader is kind of a pain in that I have to have it raised so that I can pull out the filter screens to the side (my B7800's screen pulls up, vertically, with the hood open- loader isn't an issue (other than I have to reach over/under it).

Loader storage stands tend to live on the loader, toward the front. Nothing here ought to be difficult (other than making sure you're on level ground so that hooking things back up is easier).
