That's what I always thought, too, so I was surprised to see a boat with a bow thruster at a dealer's place at Lake Lewisville a month or so ago.

Oh, this was on a boat. I thought he had some fancy new tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jim, I would let it fly or float as is ,it won't hurt anything in such a diluted state.

Do a test for yourself take a quart of hydro fluid and put in a pint of oil let stand to see if it settles to separate, if it does shake or stir if your prefer to see how it mixes as will be the constant state when in use in DAS BOAT, Maybe Unc just invented hydroil /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I wouldn't worry about it.

Bow thrusters on da tractor...that would keep the tractor from tipping over sideways when working on a hill. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like Nasty135's answer. You might also want to heat the mix up to around 200 F and then let it cool to see if anything develops.

Generally, engine oil, unless it's synthetic, has about 20% additives in it. Hydraulic oil likely has very little to no additive. If the hydraulic oil is more like auto trans oil, its viscosity is about 5W. Otherwise, it's a little heavier and maybe more akin to engine oil weight, which is 5 to 40 weight, generally.

I'd say the inadvertant mixing should cause no problem, but I'd be wanting to change it out at the next opportunity.
