I like to comment on Fly Rodr's question if I may. The reversible cutting edge is good insurance if your working in really rocky ground or on a paved surface. It does to things, it protects the original cutting edge from being worn down. And it strentghens the bottom of the bucket. I've been around the excavation business a long time, and have not seen enough wear (on our compact tractors) to make a difference. And this was coming from a place where there was usually less than 2' of topsoil on top of shale. However I did have to weld in a new cutting edge on one bucket after wearing it down to nothing from two winters of snowplowing paved sidewalks and bike trails. I had a city contract so it covered a lot of miles there. What I'm saying is its a nice option but not really necessary unless you have a job specific wear problem.

I know that a lot of the members here at TBN sing great praises for using tooth bars on their buckets. And I don't want to step on any toes. But I for one have never had one and quite frankly don't need one. And as I mentioned earlier I have been around a lot of compact tractor excavation projects. There are a lot of ways to into the ground or load from a pile without one. All I'm saying here is that for $300 my imagination comes up with a lot of solutions. And I still have my straight cutting edge for spreading and back dragging.

Well Brandon, it looks like you are putting your tractor right to work. That finish mower is cutting high grass normally suited for a rotary cutter, but it's a good "test" of its capabilities. Congratulations on getting the tractor you wanted and also on your choosing to practice taking the loader off and putting it on right away./w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif Now you are over the "afraid to" jitters that seem to accompany loader removal. Another thing I might suggest is to check the the tightness of bolts after a dozen hours of work. You may find a few nuts/bolts have loosened up. I did and several other folks have too. Enjoy that tractor and stay safe./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
