I’ve learned to check Amazon on their prices, they aren’t always the best. We do order a lot of stuff from them though. The trick is, and this goes for stuff on sale, don’t by stuff you don’t need.
Amazon almost always beats HF prices, IF you check around, wait for coupons, ect.Harbor Freight?
What? What? How are suppose to keep the economy afloat!?I’ve learned to check Amazon on their prices, they aren’t always the best. We do order a lot of stuff from them though. The trick is, and this goes for stuff on sale, don’t by stuff you don’t need.
I shopped around when I needed chain with hooks and the best I could find was Harbor Freight.Amazon almost always beats HF prices, IF you check around, wait for coupons, ect.
If you haven't watched, Struggleville.net, there are some really good deals on misc tools, small assorted fasteners, ect.
My do list is long enough for me to move on to the next couple of projects most of the time, though I admit sometimes parts arrive and I have to remind myself which project they were intended for...Seems pretty often I'll need 4 of something, and the local big box will have 3 in stock. So I'll often have to go to two locations to get the amount that I need.
That's another reason for Amazon. It saves me my time IF I have the time to wait.
Stop watching Youtube videos of things you "NEED" to do a job, that is my downfall. Not judging, the amazon driver stopped the other day to check on us to see if everything was OK. said he hadn't stopped in a couple days and wanted to make sure we were OK. JK, but it is pretty bad here too! LOLMy monthly Amazon bill is climbing. It's just too convenient.
Every time I turn around I see or think of something I need to fix this that... it's a new gate latch or a marker pen or a bit of chocolate. It's peppercorn or spray lube !
I don't know how to stop it![]()
63 year old house here. Sometimes I want to swear at the older farmer who built, it for being so depression era mindset. I still have faucets older than me and I'm 58 this year. Not joking. He was apparently a rich old farmer too. But hey, those old faucets are still working and I know that if I replace them, I have about 5 years before I'm replacing them again. So, now I'm trying to get the wife to like the 1960's motif. : )I have the same problem. My house is 34 years old. When I have to replace a fitting in the plumbing system I have to buy on line - neither of the two hardware stores in the nearest town carry the fittings because "they are obsolete". Just recently I needed to replace the coil packs in my 2016 F150. To my amaze the local Ford dealer - who just built a huge new building - did not stock them. They had to order them - and it took a week to get them. You don't stock parts for your most popular vehicle???
