Adding 3rd function hydraulics for Auger

/ Adding 3rd function hydraulics for Auger #11
Looking to get a 9" hydraulic auger, only problem is my 4540 didnt come with a 3rd function or rear remotes. I talked to the guys over at EA and he said I should go with rear remotes. The WR Long kit they sell is not designed for auger use.

What are my options here? If I buy the kit (dealer wants $1300) - is it fairly easy to install? anyone have any pictures, etc?
Rear remote kit is easy to install. Little harder for a cabbed unit. Definitely the way to go if you can afford it. Biggest complaint I hear with using the FEL hydraulics is the loss of power due to the FEL valve and its relief valve.

The reason the WR Long kit isn稚 designed for auger use is because of flow , the constant on type of use or the fact it doesn稚 reverse flow. I知 guessing it痴 the last one since EA/WR Long kit is a nice one.

Finding some budget kit online doesn稚 make for a nice hydraulic auger. Get a nice valve that will run the hydraulic motor properly.

I had contacted WR Long and had a conversation with Nelson Long about a similar question:
Question about the electric hydraulic valve kit (3rd function, not the diverter). Is this valve rated for continuous operation or is it only intended to be used momentary? One of the applications of my new 3rd function is to run a pickup truck sized tailgate style sander which connects to my loader and has a hydraulic motor to spin it. I just want to make sure the valve kit is rated to be held in the "on" position for extended periods of time while using this sander without damaging the valve electrical components.

His response was the following:
You will not damage my valve, however most likely the fluid will heat up and then cause other problems for you. We have rated the valve at 12 gpm for intermittent operations like while using a grapple or 4n1 bucket.

The fluid would heat up because it is being forced through a smaller port size (3/8") than the flow of the tractor (1/2"). The suggestion to use the rear remotes would solve that since they are 1/2".

Ok that valve link above has a 30gpm or so option and it sounds like you would need 1/2” plumbing.......or the rear remote. Both have their place. It depends on what u r doing besides the auger.
