I respectfully disagree with mikester. I do not think it is cheaper to sell the tractor and buy one with the loader on it (though I agree you absolutely should consider it -- given the time and effort of getting a FEL onto the tractor.) I had been very biased in my case because the
B2150 I have was in near perfect "brand new" condition with just over 200 hours on it when I got it. I love that machine and was very determined to mate a loader to it no matter what.
There are several things to look out for in buying a loader for the
B2150. For starters, there is some ill-documented (maybe totally undocumented) difference between the HST and stick transmission model
B2150's when it comes to mounting the loader. I bought a brand new LA350A loader through a dealer (In WV) for the
B2150. That would have been $3886 plus around $300 installation. At that time (2011) there were 2 in a warehouse in Ft Worth Texas. The dealer got the loader, tried to mate it to my stick shift
B2150 and eventually gave up. Said it could not be done. Dealer and Kubota got into a big hassle over it and I got my money back. Oh by the way, those loaders are no longer made.
What I then did was: I found a large equipment dealer and salvage yard combo in PA (Wengers) who happened to have a brand new Case LX330 loader that was just roughly the right size for the
B2150. They also pointed me to a local Amish welding shop which agreed to do the entire installation and loader modification for me including the loader valve, hoses, welding, etc. Bottom line was $1600 for the loader and $1541.90 for the welding., mods and installation.
$3141.90 total.
That was less than the new LA350A loader alone if it fit which it didn't.
Kubota factory (later, way too late) admitted that the LA250A was intended to fit ALL
B2150 tractors BUT there were special order mounting kits for each type tractor which they no longer make or sell.
So this is a long way around saying I admit there is a lot of work and time (plus luck frankly) to get a FEL put on a
B2150. It can be done if you like messing with equipment as I do.
My suggestion is check around your driving-distance-local area and see if you can come up with a loader and someone willing (and realistically able) to do the mods and the installation. See what that would cost. If it is over $4K then Mikester is probably right and you are better off trading tractors.
Since I have been this wordy and lengthy already I will include a few pictures:
