I've been wrestling with the idea of proactively adding a Curt GN hitch to my GMC 3500. I've been holding off on Linex ing the bed because of this.
I previously had a GN and really liked the way it towed. Currently I have a BP dump trailer and I'm looking to add a flatbed to the mix soon.

I plan on keeping the truck for a long time and wonder if it makes sense to add the GN hitch before having the Linex installed? I'm not really planning to go GN on the flatbed trailer but figure the linex install on the GN will be a wiser idea even though I have no current plan to tow GN. Anybody have opinion's on this one?

I really don't think it matters IMO. My 2500 came with factory bedliner and I'm gonna install the curt too very soon.

Buddy of mine had one installed and the truck already had a sprayed in bed liner.

I should have clarified, I'm aware the hitch can be added after the bed is sprayed. I installed a B&W in a previous truck with rhino liner.
I'm thinking that having the top of the hitch sanded and coated in linex is a smart idea for durability reasons.

talking about the curt ez hitch? It has a rubber cap when the ball is put away to keep debris out when not in use. I'd be concerned the functionality wouldn't be same with linex atop.. YMMV

I had a B&W gooseneck installed in a previously lined Line-X bed,no problems, actually probably easier because no extra masking.

This is a good point that I hadn't considered. So the consensus is just add it when and if needed. Thanks for the replies guys:thumbsup:
