Adding a grapple to a 3x20 series

The one you see on my TC33da is a 5' and a tad heavy for it but it handles it pretty good. He makes a lighter weight one that is just as tuff and I'm waiting on one of them to test but he's selling them as fast as he can make them. He call's them his Jake rake and has redesigned the gapples on them and I'll see if i can get a picture of it this weekend if he has one available.

Give him a call as his number is at the bottom of the broucher. He can fill you in on the exact one for your tractor as he's built a lot for older and newer tractors. Tell him "cous" recommend you give him a call he'll know who I am.

Just looked up a JD 2520 and your tractor should handle a 5' with out a problem from what I see. Liek I said give hima call and he'll match you right up with he right one. He sells to JD, NH, and Kubotia dealers and individuals all over the USA.

If I'm not mistaken this is the guy who's copying the Rakemaster guy but from what I've his rakes don't hold up very well from abuse which with Rakemaster rakes I've only seen one come back that someone abused and it was because the tried to push with the gapples and damage them (broke mount and I believe he's resolved that issue) and the cylinders which for note is user replaceable and not something special you can only get from him or have to hunt for if they need replacing. Note the steel between the two as I said be builds them tuff and has for many years now.

I will send you a PM as I am looking for a tuff grapple to use on a JD 6420. The Newberry John Deere dealer handles your Grapple and the ones that I have seen are very well built. Thank you for the information.

I have a 3520 Cabbed tractor with a dealer supplied grapple. It really is useful picking up large branches. I've gotten to where I can pick up rocks with it too. It has the extra lever in the cab for opening and closing it. If you have any questions ask away.

Do you have any pics of the lever in the cab to operate the grapple? Do you have the skid steer type quick attach or the JD version?

I imagine he is talking about the rear remote control lever.

The grapple control is the third from the right. The bucket/grapple uses the standard bucket attachment system.

He is. I could not understand why you liked the rear remote setup when I had the diverter on my CK30. After I had to trade to a JD 3520 and found the third SVC was the way John Deere set it up i was a little hesitant. now after using it for a while I don't see it as being any more difficult to use than the diverter. It just depends which way you are most comfortable.

I've never used a diverter but as you know I have found using the rear remote to control a grapple perfectly acceptable. The only downside that I can really think of is that it ties up the rear remote so that I cannot use the grapple and backhoe on the same task without getting off the tractor to switch the lines around. If I find that is more than an occasional nuisance I will probably go ahead and add a diverter...but only to recover the rear remote.
