Adding a Loader to a 2240

I drilled and tapped a 1/2 inch NPT into the filter cover on my 4020, and put on a 90 deg elbow fitting. I put a JIC adapter on the end so I can take the filter cover off easier.

JD came out with the option to return SCV oil to the filter to aid in operating such things as orbit motors similar to the ones used on augers and post hole diggers. SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVE OIL FILTER RETURN KIT

That's exactly what mine has, just never knew why. Thanks! :)

Hey all,
I had put this project on the back burner until after sugering season was over. Well the neighbor came over and asked when I was going to get off my lazy butt and get the loader installed. I told him I was busy with making syrup and I still need to order a valve. He went to his truck and pulled out a JD joystick valve with the mount. He did not want anything for, he said he was going to throw it out.

For once out pays to procrastinate. off to get some houses and fittings.

Dane.

Dang... you didn't even have to fall into the cooler vat of syrup to come out smellin' sweeter than well.... a stack of hotcakes! :D

Good neighbor, too.. If he don't tap trees - maybe he'll have fresh maple syrup anyway!

Absolutely, he will new getting some.

It took 2 trips to the hardware store to get all of the houses and fittings, yesterday. I was still short by one house for the bucket and more oil. But the loader is out of the back of my truck and on the tractor. I had troubles getting the fitting out of the "flow control valve?", so I left it, put an adapter on and moved forward.

I found water in the filter housing when I removed the plug, so I drained all the oil out and replaced it.

This morning I now have a descent leak on the load control arm for the 3 point hitch. I will hold off adding three rest of the oil until I replace the o rings.

To replace L/D seals and inspect the L/D shaft for wear one must drain trans oil.

I got a John Deere 245 loader for my 2240, the bolts for mounting the front side of the mounts are calling for M16X100mm bolts, the mount bolts onto the tractor mounts, what is with the 100mm bolts. I need to get bolts but I am figuring 50 or 60mm bolts, anybody have any idea.

I got a JD 245 loader for my 2240, what size bolts do I need for the front mount. The parts site are telling me I need 16X100mm, but doesn't it mount into the block. So what bolts do I need.

I think 3.5'' or 88.9 mm long
