Adding FEL to my L3200..Opinions on Brand

I have a L3130 with the Woods 1012 or 1016 loader (can't remember but I think it is the 1012). I added it to my tractor in 2005. With the savings over the Kubota 723 loader I purchased a set of forks.

The two loaders speced out about the same and I have had no problems with the Woods. I do not think the Woods loaded will have any effect on my resale.

kubotacres,

Not to worry. If you decide to sell your tractor, no matter what loader you have, there will be people lined up with money in hand to buy it. Just tell everyone you are letting them have the Ansung loader at a Kubota price since you like them.

Honestly i don't think the ansung could hurt my resale any worse than it has. If anything it will help me sell if I decide to later on. My tractor isn't worth diddly unless it has a fel regardless of brand. I'm sure some people maybe picky to have a matching Kubota loader, but frankly most people wouldn't know the difference especially around my town. If i had my way, I'd sell right now and buy a very nice 2012 L3240 that I've had my eyes on for some time... But I can't take the loss on my tractor to do that. What does the Kubota loader have to justify the $1k difference? Other than having a pretty Kubota sticker on the side what am i gaining? A kubota loader isn't out of the question, but I'm looking at all options.

I believe the Kubota loader is made in the USA, maybe Japan? I believe the other is made in China, but I'm not sure. That would make one **** of a difference to me!

I purchased a Stoll FEL 3 years ago and it has performed great...
Was considerably lower priced than either Ansung or New Holland...
My dealer had special savings on those units and I have been tickled to death with it...
YMMV...

Unless something drastic changes my mind, I just put my order in for a Kubota LA524 to be installed next week.. It's quite a few $$ more than the Ansung they offer, however with the FEL addition I will probably be more willing to hold on to the tractor alot longer than planned. With the added Tier 4 and the addition $$ increase probably for a very long time.

In my mind you made the right decision with going with the Kubota loader. I think the Ansung loader is a good product, it is made in Korea. BUT it doesn't matter what I think, what matters is what others think when the time comes to trade/sell the machine. I know I know, you said you will be keeping it for a long time, but you cannot predict the future. Future buyers will likely NOT have heard of the Ansung loader, (they make backhoes too). And the first thing they will do, is say "OK, now you are going to have to knock off a $1000 or more for that "weird" loader on there".. I guarantee it. Westendorf makes fine loaders too, some of the best, but STILL it is a "weird" "non-standard" loader and a large segment of the people who would buy an L3200 in the first place will not know diddly about it and not want it. Sure some guy that has been farming for 40 years will probably love it, but not Mr. "newby first time tractor buyer". Stick with the complete Kubota machine and you will be way ahead in my humble opinion.. That is my story and I am sticking to it:)

I also agree.
People can believe what they want but call a dealer or not and ask how much trade in they will give for your Kubota machine with a Kubota loader vs your Kubota machine with a "better" non Kubota loader. I bought my first Kubota ten years ago and planned to never sell/trade it and also just about every one after that was going to be my last one to never (probably:)) sell or trade. Barlows delivered my 16th Kubota purchase from them yesterday. It has a Kubota 72" mowing deck on it and if it had a different than Kubota mowing deck on it I would not have bought it or figured the price I'd pay without any deck on it. I know loaders are a bit more versatile than mowing decks but I'd be about the same with a non Kubota brand FEL on a Kubota tractor. My :2cents: from my own personal hand on buying/selling/trading experience which I feel most dealers would verify.
People buy stuff that's cheaper because it's cheaper and there are some or maybe even many that do that but it's the same people that buy the cheaper used stuff because it's cheaper and in used they mean really cheaper. I'm not against used which I rarely do in tractors but my delivered yesterday Kubota F2680e is used but I was the original purchaser and put all but 20 of the 150 hours that's on it.
Buy what you want and I see the OP bought a Kubota FEL for a Kubota tractor but for others buy what you want and feel good about your savings and just know your right no matter what people with experience say.

From the looks of the Ansung loader It would've been fine for my needs. I just got to looking at how much $$ I've already spent on implements that I didn't cheap out on .Why start with the FEL which I will be using probably 70% of the time. The fit and finish of the Kubota FEL also looked to be more cleanly installed. I'm just ready for Wed, so that I can get to working.
