Adding Grapple

Anyone added a grapple to theit koyker loader bucked. If so, can you tell me if it works good & how did you plumbing it. I'm thinking of adding this

to my bucket if I can get some info as to how to plumb it to work & know what type xtra valve to use

This would be the ideal valve to have but adding a 1 spool valve might be less expensive. Does your existing loader valve have power beyond?

This is above my pay grade:laughing:.as in I have no idea what it means... Wish I knew. I was thinking of something like this

I guess I would have to add a T in the high pressure line & go through this valve & back to the high pressure line like it does on my loader. I'm trying to figure all this out B-4 I purchase the grapple

Well, I looked at prince valves web site & they show a valve like this with piping instructions... The mod. is mod. 2500. Looks like what I would need & can plumb it in series with my other valve without cutting the H.P. line again . The 1 pictured is for a log splitter whisc would work in the same manner. Push lever to open grapple . Pull lever to close grapple. What do you think

That's basically what I did when I installed my grapple.... Except I pull to open and push to close (the lever moves the same direction as the grapple). Do whatever feels right for you.

My loader valve had power beyond, so it was easy to add another valve to the works. I scored a brand new single spool Prince valve on ebay. Works like a charm.

My loader valve had power beyond, so it was easy to add another valve to the works.

I'm not sure I fully understand the meaning of power beyond. I don't know if the valves that are used on the koyker loaders have this feature

Power Beyond, [ PB ], is a port to supply fluid downstream and provide a high pressure outlet. When you use the PB, the cyl fluid only goes out the OUT port to tank.

A lot of people use a selector valve for the grapple and use the curl circuit to operate the grapple.

A thumb switch on the FEL handle sets and operates the grapple circuit.

I would not use a log splitter valve for a grapple.
