Kubota L3710, JD5300, AC D19, IH 806, IH 8950, Ford 8N, Farmal Super M, several others in the past.
I am considering adding 2 hydraulics to my L3710. I want to use Kubota's set-up with the levers beside the seat for 2 additional control valves. Has anybody tried installing the remote valves themselves? At this time I don't want to use or tap into the power beyond. Can I do it myself or should I have the dealer do it? Dealer wants $400-500!

Radman, do you have the Workshop Manual and Parts Manual for your tractor? If so, you can do it yourself, but I'll take a guess and say that you might save $100. The dealer's price doesn't sound too bad to me.

I forgot to clarify. The dealer wants $400-500 to install. That's in addition to $700 for the remote control kit which includes 2 valves, hoses, couplers etc. (One valve kit is $500 and 3 valve kit $1000!) No wonder most people use the power beyond. According to the owner manual it appears the right rear tire and fender are removed for installation. This is usually a dealer added option placed on during assembly. Kubotas are shipped with just the main frame and engine from Japan. Fenders, tires, hood, rims, ROPS etc. are put on in the US. This is when options such as remote hydraulics are added.

Ouch, the manual that came with my B2710 "optional hydraulic outlet" showed the tire and fender removed and I sure don't know why because it was very simple to reach in there, remove two 12mm bolts and the cover and bolt the new outlet on (yours may be quite different). I thought you were talking about $400-500 total. I didn't ask my dealer which model he was referring to, but when I wanted to put hydraulic tip 'n tilt on mine, he said Kubota had a kit for the "larger" tractors for about $1,400. It seems they're awfully proud of those things. Of course, doing it myself still cost a little over $800 for mine with a two spool valve.

New prices on kubota remote hydraulics. I discovered the prices mentioned earlier are for just the valve - parts man looked up wrong item. The complete kit for single valve (including couplers, hoses etc.) is $725; two valves $1050 and three valves $1450. Talked with salesman/manager with said it should not be difficult to install. He said it should be a afternoon project. Best to remove rear tire to get access. Bolts in place. Bird, this seems similar to your experience. I'm not sure where the same service department gets a figure of $400-$500 for installation. Guess I will install a two valve myself. Still don't like the price, but then I rarely do.

Radman, the only dealer I asked about installing one on my B2710 said they hadn't done a 2710, but get $55 an hour and would guess it would cost $100-150 labor.
