MadDogDriver, I looked around for a diverter valve and couldn't find one. Do you have a link to it? I really want to see what it will cost me to do it. I need to look at the tractor to see how much room there is at the existing rear remote as I'm think (oh no, now it getting dangerous) that it would be neat to splice the divert valve in at the rear since I already have lines running to it for the graple and the top-n-tilt. If I could do it for under 400 I'd go that route. I've emailed a couple of places for quotes on the second rear remote but no responce yet. I've been to the sites that let you look it up but the second one doesn't come up with a price. The third does and it's around 425.
Thanks for the help and enchouragement.
Greg
This is the diverter valve I was considering, $219.50 at
Surplus Center Item Detail.
Surplus Center also has all the other items you'd need for the diverter valve project if you couldn't find them locally.
This valve would be used to divert the FEL's curl/uncurl circuitry and looks identical to the one I saw from NH, but for a whole lot less $$. Did you have a chance to look at that previous thread I was referring you to? If not, then take a few minutes to digest it and the links within it,
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/owning-operating/100961-3rd-function-diverter-valve-location.html. You will see that PineRidge connected his diverter valve to the curl/uncurl lines out of the FEL controller and located his valve on the FEL mount frame, but I really liked the NH design that also connected the diverter valve to the curl/uncurl lines on the loader itself thereby allowing the diverter valve to be mounted on the FEL crossframe instead of on the tractor.
Since you already have everything plumbed from your first rear remote to the FEL I suppose you could use the diverter valve as an electronic 3rd function valve plumbed at the rear remote. One problem with that idea is where would you locate the diverter valve. I'm not sure you have enough room behind the tractor for the diverter valve though, especially if you want to leave room for future installation of 2nd & 3rd rear remotes.
Using the FEL: The diverter valve would be plumbed with the FEL curl/uncurl lines into the valve and one of the two set of outputs to the FEL curl/uncurl cylinders and the other set of outputs to the grapple (or whatever you are hooking up). You could place the diverter selector button in the joystick like PineRidge did or use some other placement on the joystick (like a trigger for example).
Using the rear remote: Input into the diverter valve comes from the lines going to your rear remote QDs. One output to the rear remote QDs and the other output to your grapple lines that would've connected to the rear remote. You could use a normal on/off style switch with this setup since you wouldn't be using the top n tilt and the grapple simultaneously like you might with the bucket curl/uncurl and the grapple.
NH's kits for the second (and third) rear remotes come with everything you need to mount the remote and QDs. They have laid out a plan for locating the 2nd & 3rd remotes without interferring with each other, but there's not a whole lot of room for anything else.
I use Messick's,
Tractor Parts for Kubota, New Holland, Case, and more..., to get a gut check on NH parts prices and order online from them if my dealer is busy. Normally though, I just go locally with my NH dealer since he's always been straight up with me.
EDIT: OBTW, I just checked and Messick's has your 2nd rear remote kit for $328.20, part #718334026, for the TC45DA.
Hmmm
