Adding Second Rear Remote

/ Adding Second Rear Remote #21
We owe you guys an appology on this one. Turns out you found a bug in our website. At one point we had placed a wholegoods kit into our parts inventory. The number was valid and the system had a price from 4-5 years ago when this had happened. That kit sold, but the number and the price remained and where never purged from our store inventory.

MadDogDriver had called me to let us know that error happened. (Thankyou). Turns out you can key in other wholegoods numbers into the system and some come back pricing and stuff. We looked into a few of these and it just happens that there are instances where parts and wholegoods share the same number for different items. The shopping cart is only intended for processing parts items, and not wholegoods kits.

If you have questions or notice somthing wierd please call us. We're pushing out information to the internet and tieing together data in a way that not even New Holland has accomplished yet. We've worked out a few bugs so far and I am sure we'll find more.

Thanks.
Neil

Thanks Neil,

We know you and your family are stand up people along with your business.

Thanks again for all you've done for us at TBN. :D

Too bad we still can't get that rear remote for the old time prices though. :(

Just a few years ago you could get all 3 together for about $500. WOW!

To be completely fair, the price of the remote kits used to be around $250 for the first one and $215 each for the next two. That would make the total price about $680. That's still a bargain at today's prices and makes me thrilled that I have three installed remotes at the "bargain" price.

The diverter valve setups for the FEL remotes work well for a grapple or some other FEL application, but I would not encourage anyone to try a DIY job on the rear remotes even at today's inflated prices. Yes, they cost a lot of money, but when you are finished, you will have a very clean installation that will work well with your tractor's design. You'll have a good source of repair parts and technicians who are trained to repair them if needed.

Even at $1500 for three remotes, I'd have a hard time trying a DIY setup, but that does not mean it cannot be done by someone else. It's really too bad that NH does not have some competition from a 3rd party manufacturer. But unlike autos where there are so many sold, there seems to be a limited market for someone to come along and build a bolt-on kit that the average shade tree mechanic like me can handle.

Thanks Jim, $680. I knew all three remotes purchased together awhile back was close to what just one is now, just didn't have the exact price. It's great to have your resident expertise available. Between your experiences of tearing apart your tractor several years ago and your intimate knowledge of the shop/repair manual, you've been a tremendous resource for just about everything related to the TC series NH's.

I agree about not trying to create a DIY rear remote install, especially since the NH kit has everything you need and decent instructions too. I do think the NH rear remote kit could be installed by the customer. I watched my dealer install mine and it was a very straight forward and clean install. PineRidge's install of all three tc-40d rear remotes is a great pictoral for any of us to follow. The biggest challenge is not getting crushed by a filled tire.

What are your thoughts about the diverter valve install on the FEL crossbar referenced earlier?

We actually do hack together rear remotes pretty often on machines where you can't get factory kits any more. The price increase on this stuff is not just from the big tractor companies, the parts have gone up as well. Even having all the valves, hoses and fittings in house we can't really build our own remotes and come out dramaticly ahead of what the OEM sells.
