Adding SSQA to a Box Blade

I have this old fork frame that never had forks on it:

I used it about 12 years ago to put a three point cedar tree cutter on the V417:

I do not have the tree shear now so I removed the 3 point hardware:

The frame now weighs 236 pounds:

Will be using 4 of the holes to bolt on a piece of 2-3/8" tubing:

Long story, here is more. Drilled the tubing and bolted to the SSQA frame.

Had to notch the side frame above the tubing to fit the back of the box blade:

Here it is in place with the tube against the back of the box blade:

Next step is marking and drilling bolt holes in the back of the box blade and the tubing.

I know your not done and skilled in making things heavy duty. Would think you need a lot more frame and gussets to transfer forces to the box blade?Using bolts instead to welding to make it easier to change? Holes thru tubing unless you use bushings tend to invite deformation and cracks.

I Build using the TLAR method. (That Looks About Right)

In the picture above you can see the two channel iron braces from the back where the tubing is pushing from, to the front where the 3 point arms hook on.

That may need some gussets up to the top. The tubing is above it a little and on the back.

Yep, and to remove if TLAR fails .

Got the holes drilled in the box blade and tubing.
Here it is removed from the frame and bolted to the box blade:

The arrows point to the bolt holes for the frame.

Got the brackets mounted for the top brace:

The frame is bolted on:

The top brace is using a hole that was already in the frame:

Showing the bolts from the box blade to the tubing. 1/4" in the top flange and 1/2" through the back:

Blurry pictures from the camera this time. Picked it up with the shop crane to weigh it:

Set it down on the dolly and rolled it out of the shop:

Did not want to put pressure down on the dolly when connecting the SSQA, so ran a chain to it and picked it up:

It is off of the dolly:

Backed up and set it down on the grass:

Connected the SSQA and this is maximum rollback or curl up:

Maximum dump or curl down:

Next I get to try it out.
