While trying to dress a rough gravel/crushed concrete driveway, I was disappointed how bad the medium duty box blade skipped an bounced and was pretty ineffective. I looked a suite case weights but could not figure a way to attacht them.
I aquired some really heavy plate, 10' dia. 2-3/4" plate and made some weights.. And for those of you who work big steel.. well hats off to youi.. this stuff is a pain in arse to work with..

Well that ought to for sure tear something up. :D

Tell us how it goes, but I'm thinking some box repair is in the making. ;)

You will be surprised at what a difference that will make. I add up to 600# to my & foot BB and it a difference of night and day.

Looks like that will do the job. I was able to acquire a 5' section of RR rail for my 5" King Kutter box blade.

I have 600 lbs I add to my box blade, nothing torn up yet.... leave it on all the time...need it for counter weight for FEL as well as weight to make box blade work right.

ive found the 5' chunk of railroad rail that weighs about 300lbs made a huge diffrence on the back of mine.

you may find that that huge chunk of plate covering the top hinders the ablity of the dirt to ride up and pile up in front of the blade in the box. (well at least above the top lvl which often occurs when im shifting dirt)

RKJ 2-3/4" plate weighs approx. 112# PSF, so it should have added about 448#. I did have concerns if I did not like the additional weight so I only welded a heavy small tack in 4 places.
I also welded chain hooks to the center of each one if I decided to keep the weight I will finish welding it out and use the chain hooks for pulling my drag.
