I added about 450 pounds to my 6' Land Pride HD discs (they work MUCH, MUCH better now!!). I used Quickrete, lumber laying around for forms, and some chain I wasn't using (wrapped around rebar). They are 4.5" x 12" x 45" long. HEAVY to move, and strapped on by some ratchet straps I had laying around, but feel they may bust so I have to come up with something more sturdy. Thanks for listening. Total cost by the way was around $30 for the stuff I didn't have (3 bags of quick setting Quickrete per block plus rebar).

By the way, the chain, which you can barely see, is laying on top of the blocks and is anchored in the Quickrete and it's a snap to lift them with my welded on bucket hooks. This is my first experience with Quickrete and I loved it. Very easy to use.

I think they may break apart from shock. You might be able to put a piece of plywood, cut to the size of each of the concrete blocks, under each of them. And then put a piece of rubber floor mat on top of the plywood. Then strap the concrete on top of the plywood and rubber. The plywood will give support under the entire piece of concrete, the rubber mat would insulate against shock. Just a thought.

By the way, that is a nice job. I should have written that first. My reponse above is really in reply to your concern that the concrete may crack, and I think you are right that it may. After re-reading my reply it sure seemed like I didn't like what you did, but I think it is a nice job.

If it falls apart, build a rack across back to hold a 55gal plastic drum. Filled with water it weighs about the same, and can be removed by hand- after emptying that is. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Bob. Thanks for your reply. I see your posts and value your opinion. I was going to cut up some industrial garage floor rubber mat stuff to give "shock absorption" but was too impatient. I agree with you, and already have pressure treated plywood ready to cut to size for underneath the rubber matting. Thanks for your post and thoughts.

If you have rebar full length in the blocks I would not worry about cracking.

That is a neat looking custom form fited setup.

Each block has four #3 rebar embedded in it. The blocks are 45" long, and the rebar was cut to 41". I banged them around real good loading them into the truck, and into the bucket, and they held up real well without breaking. The only thing I would NOT do again is get the quick setting Quickrete. That 20 minute working time FLIES by when you're putting in rebar, smoothing it out, mixing...etc.

That looks like a very good way to add the extra weight that you needed to get the job done without spending a lot of money. I'm curious how your TC-40DA handle the weighted disc's? Do you do any plowing with your HST?
