Kubota MX5100
I've a new MX5100, but bought it with no frills. Now that snow removal season is here, I need to add a rear light so I can see to run the snow blower after dark.

Any suggestions/experiences about this? Is it worth buying the Kubota kit? If not, where do I pick up the power to run the thing? I guess that's the stumbling block -- not sure where to wire in. It's not as simple as it was on the old tractors -- this thing has a fairly complex wiring system, that obviously I don't want to screw up. Fuses, it has fuses, lol!

Look around next to the 3-point lift control. There should be a wire for connecting the rear work light. It's a Kubota 'T' connector, but plain spade lugs will fit. I bought an implement flood at the local farm store that had a threaded bolt mount. I drilled and tapped the underside of the ROPS bar and mounted the light there. It was only about a 3/8" hole, so I figured it wouldn't weaken the ROPS much. Total cost about $15. I may add a second flood aimed forward, since the loader gets in the way of the tractor headlights.

Thanks Larry, I'll look for that!

There are 2 pig tails under each fender, near the turn signal lamps. These are powered by the key, so that when the key is in the run position the lights would be on. They are bullet type connectors if I recall the female is the positive terminal.

I see those pigtails (and was marvelling that anyone would leave exposed wired in such a location), and was considering coming off of them. I would like to find the actual worklight wire, since there is a fuse for that purpose, it would be more elegant to use it. But, I don;t see the T connector Larry described. I'll have to look closer when there's some daylight -- a scarce commodity, with the sun setting about 4 in the afternoon :).

I have an MX 5000 with a rear work light. I will see where it connects and take some pics, if possible.
