I have been using outboard 2 stroke oil for my chainsaw, and the saw doesn't seem to like it. Anyone else notice this? This leads me to the second question (which Clemsonfor may have just answered): can I put the 2 gallons of 50:1 gas/oil mixture in my truck's tank when I fill up to dilute it safely?
I have a 1980 chevy k10, I would dump it all day long in my truck, even in my 1990 ranger.
I am my own mechanic, I don't care if I get it in there, all your going to do is foul your plugs a bit faster and your O2 sensors but my vehicles are not going to be hurt by that tiny amout of oil and one does not even have an O2 sensor.
And don't use water cooled outboard oil in your air cooled saw. The water cooled oil is designed to burn off at lower combustion and engine temps due to running cooler, if you run it in your saw it burns off faster. If you go the other way around you will get carbon fouling in an outboard.
