I have a 4100 and I'm trying to remove the adjustable draft link from the pivot shaft. The manual says 1. remove lynch pin from pivot shaft. 2. slide shaft to side and remove adjustable draft link and draft arm. My question is which side do you move the shaft? Do I take the tire off and move it to that side or move it towards the middle? I tried both and it only moves an inch in either direction. I didn't want to force it in either direction without asking. the whole draft arm area is heavily rusted.

move it to the right to remove the left link then move it to the left to remove the right link. If you need to remove the shaft completely you will probably need to remove a tire.

spraying with your favorite spray penetrant (50-50 mix of diesel and ATF is mine) may help to get more movement from it but don't forget you may have wear in the shaft that is causing it to hang up. make sure you jiggle any moving parts while you try and move it.
