Adoption question

Yes, Congratulations!

My wife and I have also adopted. The quickest one was 8 months, and the longest one took 2.5 years to become final. It was well worth the wait:thumbsup:

just as an aside....there's an adoption tax credit you can take on your federal income tax return that will return some of the costs to you.

And, if that results in a tax refund, you can purchase more firearms :) :) :)

Congratulations!

2 questions...

Both yours?
Has it really been 7 years to make it happen, or did you just forget about this thread?

Both legally adopted to both my wife and myself.

We went the fostering route.

Perhaps a total of 5 years for both. Both came to us at different times.

Because we foster, there are privacy rules.

I don't know how old the child is that you are thinking about adopting or their background might be, but having had several foster children over the years and in several different states, I can tell you to be very careful with everything, especially guns. If it is older than a baby, it will have such a different background than what you might expect and will be 180 degrees different than you might think of how it will react to a certain situation.

At times you'll question why you ever did it, but the rewards in the end will be worth every grey hair and pain they gave you. Good luck.
