PVC without primer tends to come apart at the joints

Yep, and in the case of a potato gun, the joints separate with haste! Been there, done that, laughs were had but it wasn't one of the safest things we ever did in our youth!

4. Tractor related; after hooking up "anything" to the three point or drag bar walk around it a couple times and make sure the wood blocks are not in front on the tires or the stand on the blade is put up so you don't do your grading work and then find the stand bent to he!! on the brand new Landpride rear blade.

Guilty... once... (so far).

Guilty... once... (so far).

This year getting the haybine opened up and ready to cut; I oiled the chains checked everything over. (I thought) and headed for the field. I could see my wife in the rear view mirror yelling and chasing me. The block of wood (6x6 post) I used to block the tire was still blocking the tire. I was just dragging the haybine through the gravel driveway. 1 more lessoned learned. Again!
Look, you can see the block.:)

You just really wanted to reblade your driveway, and this was the "excuse" to do it, right?

yes! But once you do this once in front of a lot of people you never do it again.
I've done this once too and I have one from experience to add.

After launching your boat without the plug in, calming your wife and sister-in-law, running to boat into the bank, then finding the plug and inserting it. Do not idle out of the marina with the bilge pump running and decide to shove the throttle wide open. All that water in the boat will rush to the back and the boat will stand straight up on it's tail. You will be looking at the clouds in the sky. Then, when you pull the throttle back to idle the water will all rush to the front and the FRONT OF THE BOAT WILL GO COMPLETELY UNDER WATER. We ended up with only a few inches of my one year old boat above the water. Needless to say I idled out into the lake and let the little pump clean the water out. Was scared to death the water would short out the battery and kept the motor running. Scared the wife so bad I thought I was going to never get her back in it. After this SHE always checked the plug after I did.

Never go to sea with people you are unsure of or have doubts about.

You might not return ...

Operating with that cruise control on the new tractor you just bought may require practice.

Don't throw lacquer thinner into a smouldering wood stove to get it started burning again. Especially don't blow in the door when it doesn't light off. Eyebrows gone, hair singed. Guy at work did it, too funny.

#9. While passing a truck and noticing the twisted straps, think twice about giving negative opinion about his tie down technique. It's done intentionally to prevent high speed harmonics (vibration) due to airflow. Bonus points if you admire the well placed bundle of excess straps cinched under.

Yep. Flat straps are flapping straps.

Repeatedly attempting to light a burn barrel that has no bottom vent with a propane torch that keeps going out when held upside down may not end well since propane is heavier than air ...

rswyan - along those lines. Putting any type of pressurized canned product(hair spray, paint, lubricant, Bushes Baked Beans etc) in your burn barrel without puncturing the can first is a good way to see how far the resulting explosion can propel your garbage.

1>When launching a boat BY YOURSELF.. DONT open the back window of your Bronco & HOLD THE BOW LINE..
The momentum of the boat zooming off the trailer, will pull your arm back & flip you over the drivers seat..

2> when launching a boat FOR THE 2nd TIME by yourself.. and learning a lesson from the 1st time.. and tieing the bow line to the bumper of your truck.. MAKE SURE the rope isn't the "stretchy kind".. the boat WILL come off the trailer, hit the end of said line.. & recoil at Mach 3, back to the CONCRETE landing.. tearing up your shinny jell coat.. OR smashing into your trailer..

I will have to second that motion. I would have liked to have seen a video of that!

When launching your boat for the 3rd time & learning from lessons 1&2..
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS MAKE SURE the straps are UNHOOKED from the back of the boat..
The boat WILL NOT FLOAT when tied to the trailer...
The video plays over & over.. IN MY MIND..

When coming off the lake, after a hard day of consuming adult beverages.. When TRYING to pull the boat out of the ramp.. MAKE SURE the CLUNK you heard was ACTUALLY the emergency brake coming off & not the HOOD popping open.. {pulled the wrong lever} blocked the ramp for over an hour.. getting ready to call a tow truck.. lol

When transporting a mattress in your truck, make sure that you strap it down securely...DO NOT let your son, daughter or grandchild sit on it to hold it down. They won't. Actually saw this one day; guy in front of me was hauling a mattress, and when it started to rise up, he put his son back there to hold it down. Just took a few seconds and the mattress took off like a kite, dumping the kid on the street at about 30 mph. The ambulance arrived soon after.

I was pretty sure what was going to happen; out neighbor did the same thing, and his daughter ended up with a broken jaw, among other things. I understand this happens a lot; police, I'm told, call it a "mattress incident".

I think I would call it "Darwin's theory of Natural Selection".

Yes, Natural Selection or thinning of the herd. Never seen a person "ride the mattress" but have seen a few mattresses go flying.
