You have more tractors than you have acres. You need more acres. Wasn't that easy?

LB, I can help you with that. My wife was complaining that my G1800S is too hard to steer (no power steering, but that is the easy one, she hasn't driving the B7100HST yet, it is a real working for FEL work). Anyway, you should give me one of your BX1500's for my wife to mow with :D

It would be great to have you and your 3 tractors and 2 more drivers down here on my land helping me to get caught up :D But I'm sure there are plenty folks a lot closer to you that will help you not be bored.

We're mostly just trying to tame the 3 or 4 acres right around the house. We have about 7 that needs hoggin but that only happens twice a year. The rest is just woods and apart from making some trails through it, we will probably keep it that way.

It's funny, I got a real good friend who has a house on about 1/2 or 3/4 of an acre and he and his wife want to sell it and buy a place with no yard. He wants more time to do his thing...whatever that is. Seems like most people here are looking for more things to do. I wanna grow old having plenty of chores to do and some great hobbies like tractoring, woodworking (welding which I can't do yet but would really love to learn). Old with plenty to do sounds a lot better than old and bored. We still get all of our (free) tomaters from a 90 year old man who just loves my daughter. He still has a woodworking shop down in his basement too and uses it regularly. And he helps out every Sunday mornin with childrens church. He's never bored.

As usual, LBrown, you're way ahead of all of us. You've demonstrated that with 3 tractors, it's possible to get all your work done and finally be caught up. Do you realize how many people have that as a lifelong goal and never achieve it? Maybe with 3 BX Kubotas they would have.

I think the tips to help others who lack resources & equipment are right on. I try to do a gratis (or nearly so) project around the neighborhood every year, if possible. Just stay on the lookout for work you could help with that people can't afford to have done. I know that I would prefer that the neighbors be glad I have some equipment, not envious.

Maybe you need to trade one of the BX's in on something bigger. Something that would let you do bush hogging jobs or serious backhoe work. This would let you look around for a greater range of work. I can just imagine the thread that would run here if you asked for help upgrading to an L-model or a larger TLB...or two...or three :)

Keep in mind that there are people trying to make a living doing tractor work. Don't want to take bread off their table. Better to look around for work that just wouldn't get done if someone didn't volunteer to take it on.

Most people want to pay something for work done and feel better if they do. So let them pay for your diesel fuel. No law says you have to charge full rate.

In the meantime you can be preparing the syllabus for that Junior College course you're going to teach next Spring; "How to Get Caught Up and Stay There using 3 Tractors" ;)
FWIW

Of course, it helps to be retired (like LBrown) too. It seems that having a full time job keeps me from getting everything done around my property. Of course, without that job, I wouldn't have the money required for materials and tools to get those jobs done, so it is a "Catch 22".

Three things are required for most projects, Time, Money, and Energy (the human kind). When you are young ( and also pre-children), you have Time and Energy, but no money. When you are middle-aged, you (hopefully) have Money, and (some) Energy, but no time. When you are old, you have Time and Money, but no (or at least less) Energy.

How true that is. Keep buying those attachments. My new 2320 is not so much a better tractor than my older 650 but it sure makes work a whole bunch easier as I get older.

1*Sounds like good fun filled seat time if I wasn't so far away.
2*I've volunteered to help my neighbor install a culvert so he can make another driveway for his motor home.
I told Another Neighbor I'd dig a small ditch for him after he cleaned the weeds out and cleaned up the junk that's in the way.
I don't want to use the tractor for the weeds and junk clean up as the area is soft and swampy in places and littered with nails from the dog houses and pens that were burned there.
In the 4 years I've had the BX no body has asked for any favors.
3*I don't have a Brush Hog.
