I wasn't really sure where to put this.

Just lost another pistol style air gun. First it didn't always shut off, then it just blew up. Now I'm in the market.

As far as cleaning off mowers and such goes, I have recently started using a four stroke Makita leaf blower, which I find more effective.

So, what's out there? Is there a difference between venturi type guns and non? Do all the longer nozzle, pistol type blowers always break? I had a bunch, now I have none. Just a short rubber tipped type gun for blowing into a port.

Thanks

Off topic I guess...and I don't have a quick picture. Saw your air blow gun title...reminded me of something.

Back in 1982, I went to Peru (S. America) with my father. Went to Maccu Piccu, Iquitos, Lima, Nazca lines...

Well, one of the trinkets I bought was a blow gun. Complete with darts (still have it to this day)

Yeah, this was more of a trinket blow gun however, it WILL work.

So, time to go home, this thing is fragile and I don't want to have it smashed in the luggage....so I literally put it around my neck and head to the plane.

Got to security and walked on through. I don't think it was on the Peru side but probably changing planes in Atlanta. Security guard stopped me and asked what it was.

"It's a blow gun..... it blows these darts" as I freely showed him one of the darts.

He looked at it....paused.... looked at me....looked back at it....back at me.

He clearly did not know what to make of this situation. Though it was a trinket type thing (it's about 15 inches long and the darts are maybe six/seven inches long)

He finally just handed it back to me and said go ahead (board plane).... and off I was to go home.

I'm speculating that I'd probably not have that same experience and ending if I were to try the same thing today.

This was a blow gun that I got while in the Amazon jungle near Iquitos.

I had to think of those blow guns too when posting this. My best friend in grade school had just come from living in Lima Peru, and told me of blow guns with "Kirachi" sp? or some such poison.

I have a four foot Milton style blow gun that use for cleaning out the 2x4s in the shop. Stepped on, broke and rethreaded it a few times already.

The 10 or so inch blow guns, tend to try and take out your eye when whipping back into a spring loaded reel!

Most of my tractor blowing is done using a Milton 2' wand. They last forever for me.

Milton Extension Blo - Gun

I use a Harbor Freight version of that one which I have had for about 15 + years.

Mowers and most things now days I just use a Stihl gas blower. More volume works quicker.

And blows stuff clear of the machine better. Plus, you don't need to pull the air hose a good distance out onto a grassy area, clean it, and put it back.

The Typhoon Pro guns do a great job and are well made if you have the volume. I have a 12?" and a 6"

Are they a venturi style? Never owned one like that.

Boy, looked at them. The last time I saw instuments like that, I was strapped to an alien examination table! lol

WoW!!! If they made a 16 oz. portable compressed air cylinder and a holster....... Strap that Multi-Jet unit right to my hip!! Their design engineers are taking clues from Star Trek and similar SiFi flicks. And the cost is............??

I have blow guns just about everywhere I need to use one but the one that gets the most use is one I made.

I took an air compressor quick-connect male plug and a female plug, and screwed them together.

I get a lot more air out of it than any blowgun I have ever used.

My compressor makes about 15 psi, but it can't quite keep up. But with that high volume, the mess is cleaned up much faster.

I call it my pneumatic broom.

I've got several of the old style cast metal ones. Since they have threaded ends I put in some AN fittings and have one that has a 3' section of brake line with a bend at the tip for floor and behind stuff cleaning, one with a 8" straight tube for general use, one with a 90 degree fitting for radiators and such, and a rubber tipped one for things like emptying out a pressure washer hose where you need a positive seal.

Sooo...... I picked up a Typhoon blow gun from House of Hose in Spokane this morning. It is MANY magnitudes superior to my home made one. Pull the trigger - it actually has recoil. Now I have to find one of my disposable dust masks and I can blow all the sawdust & crap out of my work shed.

I got the model with the 12" extension. I ran my compressor at 100 psi. $24.95

That sounds like a good deal to me. I'm sure I had the privilege of paying more. Though I have to say, "The House of Hose" seems like a place my ex sister in law might of worked...

You must be confusing that with "House Of Hose Bag". Common Mistake.

Probably not owned by the same guy?

BTW, if you guys need GREAT flex hoses, go with the Coilhose Pneumatic too.
