Air compressor froze up, opinions on my options

Husky...now $99. I just might get that. Heavy duty....by no means, but for my purpose....$99 sounds pretty good.

My point was, I didn't know you could buy a cast compressor that cheap, and if you can, why would anyone put up with listening to one of those vibration style compressors?

you really think the rest of the components to make a complete compressor of good quality would be priced the same or less?. you mean THIS?. 2 gallon 1.6 HP 135 PSI Oil Lube Vertical Air Compressor it don't come anywhere near close to making your own. compare the SCFM and also, notice the McGraw unit is a direct drive unit..

You can't compare the thinking of someone that wants to own the cheapest of everything, compared to someone that appreciates good stuff. Often the cheap stuff is a better deal anyway, especially if bought gently used.

OP wants a cheap qwikee to air up tires and pfftzz a few nails once in a while. He ain't running a full diesel repair facility.

he wants it for "tires, impact wrenches, blow gun etc." not something for a cheapo pancake compressor that is extremely loud, and won't put out enough air anyway..

I have a 20 gal compressor in my garage for airing tires, nail gun, and the occasional impact use.

20 gallon is light for continued use on my impact. But gets the job done on the occasion I need it. I find I bring my cordless impacts home from work more often when I have a project then using my pneumatic tools.
