I have a TC33d that the end cap for the air filter is broken on. Almost all the little plastic tabs have boken off and the cap will not stay on tight. Currently using a bungy cord to hold it on, but I still get an air leak around the cap.
Has anyone ever replaced the air filter with some other type of air filter? Since I have to either get a new cap, don't know cost, or put someother type of air filter on, I thought maybe a complete replacment of the filter maybe in line. Maybe one with just a single replaceable filter or auto/truck type of air filter.

Mike, I really like the two filter design and would never want to defeat the security it provides. I really thought they made a significant step forward when they added that. My recommendation would be to buy a new cap.

I agree that you shouldn't even think again about it and just get the cap. Having clean air with good filtration is very important to you motor and could cause major damage if left unchanged.
