Sweet! And even if I spend $50 twice to get this baby going, it's still very cheap education!

Next we need to discuss what comes after the backhoe valve. Need more information before we get that far. Like does the three point need to work? are there other remote valves on the tractor?

3 point was working even when I had everything plumbed wrong. It looks like part of the reservoir. I'll send pictures when I get home.

Here are pictures of the reservoir/3 point lift arms. There is a solenoid that runs a leveler on the right hand side of the 3 point. I included a picture of the left side where the line goes from the loader valve to the reservoir.

Actually, the characteristics of the three point are not at issue here. My questions about it were aimed primarily on determining if the lift system needs to be involved in the return plumbing from the backhoe. I think you now have a handle on how to properly get oil flow TO the backhoe, but what to do with the flow FROM the backhoe?

When the backhoe is installed, and even when the hoe is in use, does the lift system need to be functional? With some tractors and hoe combinations, the unit mounts on the lift arms. Some are totally separate, and the lift is not involved. All sorts of combinations in that regard. If the lift is out of the picture, then the backhoe return can be directed straight to sump may simplify things. If you need the lift working, then the return from the hoe should also be a power beyond type package because the lift is a downstream valve in that case. Depending on the valve type used on the hoe, that may not be easy to do.

Got it. I don't see any reason that I would use the lift while operating the backhoe. Once the stabilizers are down, the tractor won't move until I raise them back up.
