Cold Start Indicator Light???? Don't remember ever seeing it on mine (4300), but then the manifold heater didn't work when I got the unit new...The dealer did fix it (bad connection somewhere) but as long as its above minus 10C I just turn the key. Always fires up on the third piston stroke.
If its colder I have it plugged in. I never could see a difference when I (tried) to use that heater....
To test it I would use a meter on the leads though. First test for voltage, then check the resistance. Finally hook an ammeter in series with the lead to the heater.
