Air Rifle Question

No offense, but I hope the US never makes it as hard to get personal protection as you folks in England and Australia have got it.

I don't know about Aus, but here in UK if I say I want a weapon for personal protection, not only will I not get it, but I will probably be investigated as to why I need protection.

Genuinely, I want it for pest control (rabbits and pigeons specifically) which is a valid reason.

In fact, after the Hungerford and Dunblane incidents, I think semi-automatic rifles and hand guns of the type likely to be used for personal protection are forbidden totally.

Of course, all the drug dealers and gangstas have their uzis . . .

I second (2A) that! I love our English speaking neighbors across the Atlantic; however, their laws about firearms, criminals, and propelled objects are crazy, and the U.S. is headed down that same tyrannical path.
