As to how I mover it, it wasn't to bad. I had a contractor bring out there boom truck. I had it all ready to drop and they hooked onto it and just layed it down. Cost me 120 bucks for an hr which included the drive out and back. Then I unbolted it in half and with my tractor fel I loaded it on my trailer. two trips and I had it home. Then I painted and inspected it and got it ready to put in the ground. Because it had had a pumphouse on it and had been struck by lightning and burnt I put the bottem 4ft into the ground as it was warped. I used a bh to dig 4 holes and because I couldn't get the boom truck I rented a extenda forklift and put it up that way. I buried a 24in tile with a 4in pvc pipe running out into the lake and when I get the pump running I'll pump out of the lake for my flowers.
This is my view out of my east window in the mornings

I looked at these but it looks like the compresser connects to the head(turbin). My head and gearbox is ok and I don't want to change that part. It has a jack shaft that runs down to the bottem of the windmill and goes up and down about 5 in. I might be able to use their commpresser but I can't tell from their diagrams. Plus I am trying to get by on the cheap and not buy any thing to costly. I go to alot of auctions and can pick up alot of cyls and such if I know what I'm looking for
Thanks

LeadDog.. maybe check out these sites.. you can order parts for your windmill or tower. I bought an old "Chicago AeroMotor" windmill too.. currently sitting inside the barn. A rebuilt 8' head is around $3K.. and that's w/out the 50' tower.
I'm looking at getting another well drilled(for livestock) and set the windmill up there.

I've emailed w/ the woman Ellan on this site.. she knows a lot about windmills.. she is very nice and is willing to answer questions.

I was wondering if you set this in concrete? Hope you find what your looking for! Ken

You might try using an old 2-4 hp gas motor, the horizontal type. Pull off the carb., gas tank, muffler and all other parts no longer needed. Make sure that you do have good rings, so it will hold up and pump air. Replace the muffler with some threaded galvanized pipe, so you will be able to attach an airhose. Attach an air filter where your carb. use to be and fill the crankcase with a good oil. Leave the sparkplug in or replace with a plug. On the output shaft, attach a large wheel, disk or pulley and on the outside edge drill a hole so you can attach the pitman arm (connecting rod from windmill). You can raise the motor and put a larger drive wheel on the motor/compressor, if needed (think back to the basic fulcrums and levers). It will depend on how much power your wind motor puts out.
This will work and has an added bonus of being relatively cheap. A little thinking, parts and some elbow grease should get you in operation.

How about bulding yourself a bellows type air pump like they used to use on forges. Two pieces of round wood about 12 to 18 inches in diameter, a piece heavy rubber intertube (tractor or semi) glued and fastened around the two pieces, an intake valve on top and an exhuast valve on bottom. Glue a piece of PVC pipe to the discharge side to hook your aeriator tube too. Mount the bottom to the side leg of the windmill at the desired hieght and move your pump rod over too it when you want to use it.
