SNIP I don't know why but the PO put one of the tires on backwards.

Someone in this group advised me that reversing one tire was sometimes done to aid in backing up hills.

My tractor kept showing me progressively deeper fabric bands on it's tires. I called the company that sold me the tires and the man on the phone said he thought it was because I drove on pavement. The fronthe tires sometimes bulldoze up a pile of wasted hay and cause me to backup and drive around. This annoyance was much worse with the aircraft tires. I finally replaced them with ribbed tractor tires.

Correct. It's worse in wet weather for that reason. The tires are so stiff that they don't flex for added traction. I kept them to remount when thorns are a problem.
