alamo/mott sd88 help

Hi all

Years ago I purchaced a used sd88, love it and it works good. It however never had a rubber gaurd/deflecter on the back. I was given a peice of industrial belting and plan on cutting it for the back. It is easy to figure out how long to cut it, but dont know how wide. Does anyone have one that they could measure and report back on its dimensions? I could always guess and just do what looks right, but I would like it to be like factory if I can.

You don't really need the rubber guard.

I know it is not needed, I have been mowing that way for a number of years now. However as I am mowing roadsides, if I throw up a rock that causes an accident, it will look a lot better in the law suit if all safty deflectors/gaurds were in place.
