Oh no, they're not immune, no one is. But lets flip the roles here. What would it look like if a 'rich' person started commenting on the style choices and spending habits of a 'poor' person?? Arrogant, rude, demeaning, class-less, and crass are some of the words that come to my head.

It happens all the time. Haven't you ever heard Dave Ramsey on the radio, criticising poor and middle class people for being stupid enough to sell themselves into debt slavery? He uses the word STUPID a lot!

I think our school system has spent the last 50 years preaching tolerance, and people have become so brainwashed that they have forgotten how to practice discernment. I have had lots of arguments with kids collecting their first big paychecks whose values all start with a dollar sign.

The rot starts at the bottom and goes all the way to the top. It's an easy step from "It's my money and I can spend it however I want," to "I have the money, and can do anything I want." The first is just stupid. The second should earn you a nice long prison vacation, but rarely does.

One day I want to meet the owner of one of those huge homes and ask if they paid cash. If they didn't and dont have the next 10 yrs overhead put away than I believe they are foolish. As foolish as the ? 20 million upside down-mortgage American home owners out there. I really dont know who Mr Jackson is other than a recognizabe name in music. There is a real big chance that if he wasnt prudent like I said above with the purchase, that one day he may not be able to afford to live there. 15-20 yrs ago most Rolls Royce/Bentley motorcars were bought with cash, no finance, no lease. These past 2 decades they are mostly bought on "credit". If I ever made more than a few million bucks, I'd probably never work again and be a full time tinkerer instead of a working guy who works to support his tinkering. Just because you have "a few good years " in business , why do have to live in a 20,000 sq ft home- do these people think they are royalty - living in castles? I want to ask one of them face to face. Preferably a 35 yr old punk who made $$ on Wall street gambling our hard earned money, bought the castle and now is broke because he bought it on credit. Wouldn't they be happy had they bought one of "our " homes for cash and still have a million in the bank to pay the bills and buy food. ........sorry for the rant , had to get it off my chest

There is actually a similar home about 6 miles from my place. He adds on every so often to make sure he still has the largest house in the state. He does commute back and forth to his office (about 15 miles away) via his own personal helicopter (which just so happens to fly directly over my house each trip). His entire estate and mansion(s) on his property are all paid for.

The kicker is that if he wanted to give it away, I seriously doubt anyone within 100 miles of me could afford to just pay the utilities, insurance, upkeep, security, property taxes etc. I suppose his kids are probably set to easily keep it for life since the guy literally built a huge hospital for cancer patients since his wife's mother passed away from cancer.

I can't fathom having so much money that you can't manage to even give it all away very easily.

Nope, sorry. That's not cool. In fact crass, class-less, arrogant, rude and demeaning are words that come to my mind when I hear that. Is he on SIRIUS??

Agreed. The school system has almost eliminated common sense as well. It's very frustrating. Our world is now far more concerned with people's feelings and 'correctness' than it is with common sense, efficiency, performance, and what is the right thing to do. It's OK though, observing this behavior really just gives us a good way to quantify who'll survive the end of days.....

Fair enough. I'd like to think that the majority that make statement one don't fall into statement 2, but maybe I'm naive.

Interesting reading your point-of-view.

Another thing to think of would be Security and/or Privacy.
A "Big Name" artist would pretty much need to have a big fence and enough space to not be seen from the perimeter of the property to keep the paparazzi and the fans from "just stopping by" uninvited to take pictures and trespass.
