It's a gorgeous house and grounds although, like others, the cabin....and garage appeal the most to me. :)

I learned long ago that how other people spend their money is their business, not mine. I imagine there are a lot of people who don't have a home as nice as the ones many people on TBN have nor do they have the means to buy a tractor. So, while some are going on and on about how Alan Jackson spends his money, stop and ponder who might be saying the same thing about you.

You make a really good point Mike...best to never look into another mans pocket but just do what you think is right and what makes you happy. I agree - but he has earned the right to spend his money as he sees fit..and good for him, my tastes are much different !

It used to be we celebrated success in this country. Now people are really turned off by anyone who makes it and feel that they have somehow stuck it to the little guy to get where they are. The truth is that Alan Jackson is a very talented singer/musician and songwriter who has sold tens of millions of CDs and played sold out tours to millions of people and is enjoying his money.

I am glad we still live in a country where this is possible, for now......Nice place Mr. Jackson and congratulations on your achievements!

I read that it was 135 acres. I would love to own that but not have to work to pay for it.

I would hate to be away for weeks at a time on tour like he is. Also Its like having a PWC, no fun without friends to enjoy them with.

asking price is 38million

Did somebody say something negative about Alan Jackson?

I thought we were discussing the house from the listing and what we thought of it. I don't know Alan Jackson, I don't know his music and I don't know his finances. I don't like the house, but admire the craftsmanship that went into it. I don't think that's a negative on Mr. Jackson or his singing ability. We just have different tastes.

Has anybody even checked to see if this really is Alan Jackson's house? There was an email going around a few years about that claimed to be Tiger Woods house, but in reality, it was a high end rental house that had nothing to do with Mr. Woods.

I found this Alan Jackson's Home For Sale -Got $36 Million? - K92FM Photo of the Day on k92fm.com and there was also an article in USAToday about the home. Seems he is just looking to downsize since his kids are growing up.

As far as his money goes, I doubt it is or will ever be an issue for him. One thing about an artist like him is his fans decide how much money he will make. Apparantly, his fans feel he is worth a lot of money. I have bought a couple of his albums so I have contributed as well.

If it were mine I would plow up some of that manicured grass and put in a patch of peas. :)

Alan Jackson is one of my favorite singers. But it reminds me of NeverLand. What people do with their money is their business, unless it affects others. Not my cup of tea, unless I were raised with the Queen of England and didn't know any better. It's just a play pretty in my opinion.

I would be happy with the cabin, workshop/storage building or three. Then I would put the rest of the 30 some million into land...lots of land. Manage it for wildlife, farming, and friends. It would be fun to have all our friends hunting, fishing, and doing fun things! I would be happy being the host. And it doesn't have to look fancy...Oppps...I just described "Redneck NeverLand"!!

Well...I going out to buy a few lottery tickets, now...

Well, ain't that cozy... for a family of 50+!!! I grew up in a family of seven. I think our house x5 would be about equal to the first floor of that monstrosity. Don't get me wrong... it is a beautiful monstrosity. Definitely a bit excessive IMHO. I think I'd feel more at home in the cabin...

I second that idea!!! Maybe some carrots and green beans and a few cucumber plants, too!

I'd be happy with the apartment above the horse barn.

What will be interesting is to see how long it takes to sell this place in this economy and what it finally sells for. Any serious buyer is going to offer a lot less than the $38M.

If I had $38,000,000 I'd have a LOT more than those 135 acres and a LOT less house. I've never seen the point in having that much house. I'd rather put my money in the land.

WOW now thats a house, When you have that much money you have to spend it / invest it on something you dont just put 38 Million in your checking account at you local bank.

The guy has a ping pong table in the house Cool what the problem with that if you dont like it dont play.

I think the cabin is cool as well. a guy across the steet from where my folks live has a cabin about the same size but not as nice in his back yard near a pond i could not understand why he would spend $ on it but it makes for a cheep vacation and its a nice spread he has back there. Oh i thought for sure there would be a nice bass boat in the boat house!?.

Now im going to check my couch cushins again for 29,999,999 more dollars.

I saw today some sports guy put down a $52M non refundable deposit on a $.5B house in CA, and didn't buy it and lost the deposit. That makes AJ's house a bargain.

I don't like it!! It's too hard to roll a floor jack around on a tiled floor.:)

My kind of fishing lodge, pond and horse stable...just the place to raise my grandkids and teach them the virtues of the outdoors, being at one with nature, hard work and keeping things neat. The fridge, however, isn't my preferred color scheme, would prefer more wood matching other accent points.

Who would want that? The cozy cabin is probably his favorite.
