I would never make fun of you. Fred can fix most things, but he sometimes reaches the 'beat it with a hammer to make me feel better' stage a lot quicker than I do. When it comes to the critters, I can handle them better because I am never in as big a hurry as he is. But I know ( - ) this much about the tractor and he could take it up the side of the house if he wanted to so in that area we are not equal at all.

Gulty. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I do have my moments where I am not as calm as I used to be. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I never did quite understand that aspect of his personality until I realized it was all about revenge. I saw him beat a trailer hitch into the shape of a horsehoe once because he couldn't get it to latch. Those episodes are pretty rare anymore, but not unheard of.

ROTFLMAO!!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Been there, done that. Some times its good to have a wood pile around. That way, you can get a few cords split when you have one of those days. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have seen him do so many things that I wouldn't even try to do, squatting in the horrible heat with the sun pounding down on his back, slapping away fire ants, cursing a blue streak, tyring to get the grove well pump going. Tinkering, complaining, "why won't it...what the heck is...what else do I have to...?' Banging, clanking, walking away for a minute and then coming back, wiping the sweat from his face, adjusting his attitude and his hat and then setting in again. Some times for an entire day. He is, and can be....awesome.

I think it's a guy thing. Determination and tenacity....testosterone. Never ever assume that I underestimate the male, he can get my dander up, but he can put it back to bed again quite nicely too. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey Cindi, when beating it with a hammer fails to acomplish the goals you have set forth, get a bigger hammer! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I ask directions but I guess I am a poor judge of character. I usually get directions like: You can't get there from here: go to farmer Jones's barn that burnt down last year and turn right /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif: turn left at the blue Caddie parked along the road. Well, you get the picture, maybe men don't ask directions because of these stellar directions that we are given.

Yes I know, that is a problem. I've gotten those kind of directions before too. I have a freind who is fond of saying ....'go about a mile and then turn back to your left'. What is the 'turn back' part. Either it's turn back or turn left. Leave that 'back' part out because for some reason that just messes me all up.

Maybe it's because men are typically more mobile and have to deal with it more often.

Dozer,

Your "larger hammer" line reminded me of one of my favorites. "If it won't fit, force it. If it breaks, it probably needed to be replaced anyhow."

As to colorful directions, I actually got some very much like that one time when I was lost in the country. Mine were "Go down to where the old oak tree got hit by lightning and turn right then look for a place on your left with a big brown hound laying on the front porch. Turn left on the first road past that and that'll take you right there."

I figured it was a local having fun with the guy in the Corvette so I just thanked him and headed down the road hoping to find someone more helpful. Before I came to another house, I saw this big, split, blackened tree trunk.

I crossed a road then skidded to a stop, backed up and made the turn. I figured once you're lost, you can't get any more lost, right? I passed a few places that were way back off the road then came up toward one right by the road and figured I'd stop there and ask for directions again. I slowed down and started to turn into the drive when--you guessed it--I saw this big, lazy brown coon dog on the porch. I just sat there half in their drive in disbelief. Could it be??? I thought "What the heck," backed up out of the drive and made the next turn. Sure enough, it took me right where I'd been told. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Actually, the worst directions I ever got didn't sound bad at all. I stopped at a service station (remember SERVICE stations?) and was told, "Just turn right out this drive and go to the last stoplight and take a left. You can't miss it."

I pulled out the drive, turned right and was driving down the road when something hit me...

How do I know which stoplight is the last one???

I do have my moments where I am not as calm as I used to be

I find just the opposite. I used to be a terror when things didn't go the way I thought they should. Now I find I can just smile about it most of the time. Not all of the time, mind you... but most of the time. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I am like that most of the time also. Real calm under pressire.I have always been the kind of guy you went to, when everyone else is fed up with something. My thing is that things have been SO stressful the last year, and the calmness is the first thing to go. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I hope I will be back to "normal" when my life settles down, and my house is done.
