Alaska to the Lower 48 - will my DMax make it?

Lots of folks would rather buy new than make repairs, all depends on your own perspective. As for the life left in your truck, there are quite a few on Dieselplace.com with 200k+ miles. One guy there had 500k+ towing rv's around on a Dmax 3500. He noted it was well maintained, but worked it hard with no major hiccups.

i'd run it with my old 99 powerstroke. one of ems nearing 190K the other is near 130K... that's what they are for.. to be used...

go for it!

AK, I have a 02 Dmax that I've had since new. Currently got 110k on it.

Issues as best I recall are as follows:

3K Rear axle seal (warranty)
50K fuel injectors (warranty recall - filled my crankcase with diesel)
70k front wheel bearing (did it myself)
105K water separator/sensor cracked (did it myself, $30 fix)

Been a great running truck and I plan to keep it until it dies.

I think the fuel injector issue was mostly with the 01-02s.
