All BX owners, Who's got the most hours ??

Re: All BX owners, Who\'s got the most hours ??

201 hours. BX 2200. Only problem was one of the anti-scalp wheels coming off - loose bolt.

Have done many hours of tilling, post hole digging and other non-mowing chores. These little tractors are tough.

My suggested improvements are adding seat suspension and some kind of damping on the deck so it doesn't clank around when you go fast over bumps in the lawn.

Wow, that's a bunch of seat time in 4 months! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I bought mine in August of last year so basically in one year I have put a little over 100 hours on mine.

We don't have the most hours, but we might come in a strong 2nd.
Bought new 12/00
Just turned over 500 hours.
Only trip back to the Dealer was for the Hydro. pedal upgrade (grease zirk).
That's been it,no other problems /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BX22 purchased fall/2002
43 hours
major problem - not enough seat time
other problem - hydro lever not auto-returning to neutral position

Re: All BX owners, Who\'s got the most hours ??

Terry,

I found the hours adding up fast hard to believe myself. At first I thought something was wrong with my hour meter so I timed it and it is on the money. Grew up on a farm and anytime I can be in a seat, that's where I'll be. With my BX22 I go find things to do.

Re: All BX owners, Who\'s got the most hours ??

I have a BX22 with 30 hours and I have had no problems (other than a branch that wanted my tail light more than I did). I have read many threads regarding a sticking pedal..can someone elaborate? Does it stick in fwd so you have to press reverse to get it to neutral (strangely, that sentence makes sense).

Thanks - Joe

Re: All BX owners, Who\'s got the most hours ??

Last time I checked, the BX2200 at work had 342 hrs. It was purchased early spring '01. Its been "well used" and although it still looks like the newest tractor we own, it is now missing the headlight lens, one of the rear lights no longer works, and just the other week the mechanic replaced a roll pin in the front drive shaft, which thanks to some abuse, had been hanging. We tend to use it very heavy, sometimes as a loader substitute for our L2850 or Case 580M. As an interesting side note, in the years we have had it, I have never seen the loader removed (nor will it in the years to come I would guess), and it will never see a mower.

Re: All BX owners, Who\'s got the most hours ??

Nice to hear that BXes will get as many trouble-free hours as a Gravely. I had only 104 hours on my 5665 (about 1987 model) when I bought it a couple years ago. Have about 340 now. Have replaced the points and fuse and plugs and fuel filter on it.

Looking to get my BX1800 for my April birthday. Am shopping around now to see what to put on it to augment my Gravely (and maybe replace it long range).

Re: All BX owners, Who\'s got the most hours ??

I had 98 hours on my BX2200 when I traded it for the BX23. I pushed and graded 100's of yards of topsoil and gravel with the BX2200. I also only had the sticky foot pedal, and the hood release issue. No other problems which is why it was easy to switch to another Kubota.

I have about 3 hours on the BX23, and have had a problem with the throttle lever not staying where I put it. Found the problem and was able to fix easily.....hopefully that will be it.

I have found that the issues I had with the BX2200 are the same on the BX23. The hood release, which I heard was improved, isn't. I would say that it is a step backwards compared to the BX2200. I also found that there are hydraulic hose issues with the quick attachment for the front. The attachments are the same, but because the FEL control is plumbed full time on the tractor, the hoses on the older style quick mount do not reach the FEL control. Might be a good idea if you are trading for a new tractor and planning on keeping the attachments, like I did, to negotiate hoses for the quick mount as part of the deal.
