I ordered a brand new 2320 in Jan 07. Since then I have 123hrs on it. I use it basically for mowing the lawn and plowing my driveway in the winter, and a little bucket work from time to time. The tractor is always garaged when not in use. After this past winter i noticed all my hydraulic fittings are all starting to pit and rust. 2 of my quick disconnects for my bucket are completely rusted. Anyone else have this problem? My tractor is still under warranty so i was going to talk to my dealer about this. Drives me crazy everytime i look at it now.

Your not using them enough. Mine are covered with dirt and dust that sticks to the oil that leaks out when using them. JC

Do you use salt on the drives?

I'll bet you turn around on the road that is salted or something.
My snowblower tractor is just like that from the salt on the streets!

I just bought a 1990 855 so it is now almost 20 years old. No rust whatsoever on the hydraulic fittings/lines and it has 1100 hours of use in Illinois. Not sure what it was used for but i know it slept in a shed.

Unless you are using salt, it is not normal to have so much rust already.

If you are storing your tractor in a garage with a concrete floor with no insulation under the floor it can be the same as parking your tractor in a swimming pool for a month every spring. I put 1 inch of urethane foam insulation under my concrete floor and have no condensation in my building in the spring. My neighbor built the same type of building without the insulation under his concrete floor. Everything in his building is rusty. He finally installed radiant heaters that he turns on for several weeks in the spring to warm the concrete slab up to air temperature to get away from condensing all the water out of the air. Maybe this is your problem?:):)

Or, you can just coat your concrete with Epozy, that makes a barrier for the moisture. But the insulated concrete is WAY better.
Most people don't know that their garages are REALLY really Damp!
I run a dehumidifier all year in my garage, and it keeps ALL the moisture out. I have a Very dry location, and a 26x56 garage thats super insulated, and my dehumidifier removes 3-4 FULL 40 gallon drums of water from the air. So that means I would have like 150 gallons of water standing in my garage all year (but its in the air).

Yea, I HATE the sweaty garage floors in the spring! I always leave the doors open at that time. However, I use my 2210 the same as you use your 2320;mowing, snow moving, occasional loader work. Bought mine in spring 2004 and no sign of corrosion on the couplers. Talk to the dealer by all means.

The Dealer may fix it but, there is no product defect here. If you don't want things to rust YOU must protect them.

Do you do any loader work with animals? Manure and urine can be quite corrosive to metal.

I may be wrong here but here goes:

The 2210's and the 4x00, 4x10 machines have QD's that are gold colored-coated with Yellow Zinc to resist corrosion much like Grade 8 hardware is. The QD's on the newer 2x20 series are just plain steel so rust/corrosion is more of a problem.

This is where a liberal coating of Fluid Film would do wonders!

i do not put down salt. They do salt the roads though. My fittings are the gold color zinc coating. Also, only ever used my 232- for cleaning the barn once, always use the 2440.
Im going to talk with my dealer about this hopefully tomorrow if i have time. Thanks all

The gold color is probably (and most likely is) Hexavalent Chromium (don't know if that is contained in zinc). This has been banned in europe and will probably see less and less of it as mfg switch over to avoid worldwide shipping issues. The replacement coatings currently used are more of a silver in color.

Just curious on what the dealer's response was??

Old Post, I know!

I am suffering from a similar problem on the X728 I bought. The tractor is pretty clean in general, but the quick connects and the hose end fittings are COMPLETELY corroded.

To me, this is not something that should happen on a tractor less than 3 years old with 220 hours on it! I have never seen anything like it before. Almost as if these were completely un-protected steel used. Not only is it ridiculous/PITA, as I cannot disconnect the hoses to swap implements, I feel it is un-safe.

I checked into the repair parts. Me doing the work, it will cost me nearly $400 to replace the couplers and hoses. I have to do the hoses as it is corroded all they way up to and including the crimp fittings.

Any help / insight would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I just joined this site - looks great!

Can't offer any help but happens to the best of us!

My b2920 kubota has the same issue 4yrs old

Just shocking to me. Of all the things on the tractor that I would expect to see some corrosion on, it is not the hydraulic fittings, the quick couplers non the less, and to have it as significant as it is.
